The Jussie Smollett story has been declared not fit for jokes. Its a straight-up tragedy, declares the co-creator of a Comedy Central show, South Side, set in Chicago.
Bashir Salahuddin, a former Jimmy Fallon writer, says The whole situation is unfortunate. Particularly for the city, theres bigger problems for them to handle.
Yes, well, there are bigger problems than fake crimes, which is why causing hundreds of hours of police work to be wasted on a fictitious attack staged for the purposes of ego gratification and publicity ought to be punished both criminally and socially.
Instead, Smollett was let off scot free by the justice system and largely let off by the usual cultural leaders. Saturday Night Live did a sketch on him months ago, but things have been notably quiet on the mockery front.
Smollett is in a sense being treated as a victim who deserves some space to recover rather than the perpetrator of the most notorious fake hate crime of this century.
Salahuddin vows not to touch the subject of Smollett in any episode of South Side: Theres nothing funny about it. Its embarrassing, he told the showbiz site The Wrap.
A civil suit against Smollett in which the city of Chicago is attempting to recover costs incurred in investigating the case is still pending.
Yeah BS - if Smollett hadnt been found out to be a liar these guys wouldve run with it in every episode because it was important to Chicago
But now... its not.
This IS fascism by definition.
They should focus on Jussie’s heroism.
He did, after all, manage to beat off two attackers single-handedly.
Since the thread title could be REAL in many countries, including England now, it should say WHO it was declared off limits by.
Some d... on a TV show and law enforcement are two very different things.
Jokes off limits....
Too bad. I was going to say did you hear the one about the Catholic priest, the airheaded Dearborn Congresswoman and the fake crime victim who walked into AOC’s old bar and.....
Now I can’t. Ask Judge Smails to tell it.
smollet is an a$$hole..he should be determined to be a danger to himself and the general public. a textbook case to use the Red-Flag law...screw this lowlife.
“He did, after all, manage to beat off two attackers single-handedly”
LOL, oh my, that IS funny.
“This IS fascism by definition”.
Exactly!
Political Correctness is basically censorship. PC was designed to control the narrative.
Why would comedy central make any show about Chicaghole?
They ARE getting away with the Epstein "suicide."
“To Jussie” : to get off scot free after having faked a hate crime because you’re black
Bashir Salahuddin? No wonder Fallon is an unfunny America hater.
LOL
It is a tragedy as the man says however, it is also a crime committed by a small celeb evolving law enforcement and others that was time consuming and expensive. Smollett among other things is a first class Jerk......nothing funny about him.
Not to mention he even saved a Subway sandwich.
Comedy is going to be awesome once comedians stop being afraid of the crybullies and realize how much money they are leaving on the table by catering to people who don’t want to laugh.
In a way I’m reminded of the one Ren and Stimpy cartoon where they knock on a door to be met with a guy (horse?) that lamented that people won’t leave him alone because he made some mistakes, concluding while looking at Ren and Stimpy: maybe I should make two MORE mistakes?
With the Clintons and Obamas once they started making “mistakes” it could never end.
And because of folks who have been helping them, or who were helping those helping them, and so on, it could in fact go on even if the Clintons went the way of all flesh ... if Christ doesn’t come back anytime soon that is.
Jessie Smollett
Proof that a Subway footlong is Superfood!
