He refused to acknowledge that he was not fired and was allowed to complete his investigation. He’s also basing some answers on the basis of statements made by Cohen, an convicted perjurer.

Meuller comes off as extremely partisan and uncooperative.

They just want to leave the door to obstruction cracked open enough to continue their 'investigation'. The real attempt here is to wear down the president's supporters and draw some away from voting for his reelection. Remember, he won several important swing states by very, very small margins in 2016. It doesn't take much to turn the rudder of a ship.
But they're ignoring the growing revulsion of the American people at this sad farce. There will be backlash here, and it will be expressed at the ballot box. There will also be investigations of the way this coup was started.
