VP Pence was called back to the WH to deal with an emergency. He was on AF2, going to an event in Salem NH. The event has been cancelled.

It was way overblown. The MSM was trying to make it look like Haig was going all "Seven Days in May". Exactly right. Haig was one of Reagan's "hawks" and Democrats always needed a diaper change around him.

Ya know, it could be something as generic as an aircraft malfunction. Not necessarily a national crisis. Although it would be best to get the airplane home (with the VP) for maintenance.

Praying that everything is indeed fine with our great POTUS and Veep Pence.
Do worry about how grueling these overseas trips are for President Trump.
He seems so robust for his age, but he pretty much admitted for the second time that he was basically exhausted and wanted to get back on AF1. The previous time was after his first summit with Kim in Singapore.

That’s not how it works... If Trump and Pence were both gone, Pelosi would become President. But, if Pence were to become President, he would choose a new VP.

The media made it into something it wasn't - same then as it is now. Bingo!
Unlike a lot of Clinton and Obama admin officials, Haig was by profession a take-charge kind of guy when it mattered. He didn't say "I am in charge of the nation"; rather he should have been interpreted as saying no more than, "I am the ranking admin official at this moment situated in the WH."
Had it been Hillary's voice in a similar moment, the MSM would still be swooning over her bravery.
