MATTEO SALVINI's Lega Nord (League) Party has claimed a convincing European Parliament victory, in a shock result in Italy.

The group has around 32 percent of the vote so far on the night, way ahead of the Democratic Party. Interior minister Matteo Salvini leads League, which came third in the 2018 general election. Following his victory, Mr Salvini said in Milan: “A new Europe is born.

“I am proud that the League is participating in this new European renaissance.”

He said previously: “As far as I'm concerned, if the League wins nothing changes in Italy, everything will change in Europe, starting from tomorrow.”

The head of the party’s Senate Riccardo Molinari added: “The League has probably become the top party in Italy.”

The exit poll suggests that League will claim between 27 and 31 percent of the vote.

Will Europe survive itself? Rome wondered similarly.

Lega Nord (League) Party -

Had to look (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lega_Nord - CAUTION this wiki extract is suspect as it is political)

The LN advocates the transformation of Italy into a federal state, fiscal federalism, regionalism and greater regional autonomy, especially for northern regions. At times, the party has advocated the secession of the North, referred to as “Padania”, and consequently Padanian nationalism. The party has always opposed illegal immigration, especially when involving non-Europeans and Muslims. Under the leadership of Salvini, the party has redirected its focus on the latter issue. At the same time, the party began emphasizing Euroscepticism and other populist themes.

Consequently, the party now forms a European alliance with right-wing populist parties such as France’s National Rally, the Netherlands’ Party for Freedom and the Freedom Party of Austria. Salvini established a sister party in southern Italy named Us with Salvini and for the 2018 general election restyled the party’s symbol and name, dropping the word “Nord” and introducing “Salvini Premier

Steve Bannon was a major factor in Salvini’s victory.

My statement about global Conservatism seems to be more correct than not.

President Trump has ushered in a wave of respect for The United States, and a desire and determination of other world leaders to stop playing politics and actually take charge of their own nations.

I said it for the first time a few months ago, tentatively; The greatest President ever.

I now boldly aver;

President Trump, the greatest President ever.

Don't forget, he's barely served 25% of his term in office.

Salvini is against illegal immigration. He has stopped illegal immigration in Italy. And some of the bad boys are going elsewhere.

“always opposed illegal immigration, especially when involving non-Europeans and Muslims.”

Good. I hope they gain more power in Italy itself and turn back the boatloads of illegals by any means necessary.

His legacy will be for nothing if he doesn’t get off his ass and deal with Silicon valley because they are currently deplatforming conservatives worldwide, especially his own supporters. If helets them get away with it, he will not only lose in 2020 but all hope of future breakthroughs against the established globalist order will be very difficult, if not impossible without a social media platform that people can use to bypass the corrupt MSM narrative.

The first Communist Muslim Pope hates Salvini. This is a major embarrassment for Frankie because he has actively worked against Salvini. Take that, Bergoglio!

i think you’re correct on all accounts: Trump’s election and articulation of issues on the minds of ALL honest, working, thinking, and freedom-seeking citizens of the world, especially in the face of massive head-winds of vile lies, bias, hate, and propaganda from the international dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia has been instrumental in inspiring the rise of populism and nationalism round the globe ... that alone is enough to put him on Mt. Rushmore ...

Europe seems like it will be fine at this rate. Their worst countries have demographics the United States had in the 1980s.

We’re the ones in big trouble.

Italy like Greece and Spain are the poor sisters from the South who care at the mercy of France and Germany.

Why would the country that elected him be “stunned” that he won? Oh, they mean the elite globalists are stunned. They should fix that headline.
