More states are ditching Christopher Columbus.

Vermont and Maine are the latest to join the growing number of cities, states and municipalities that have renamed the October holiday for the people who lived in America long before the explorer arrived.

The legislatures of both states passed bills last week that would change Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day. The bills are awaiting the governors' signatures.

ACLU of Maine Advocacy Director applauded the state's efforts.

Why are we celebrating people who thought the wheel was only good for toys?

I never really cared much celebrating Columbus Day.
Columbus never set foot in North America.
In four trips beginning in 1492,
he landed on various Caribbean islands
and explored the coasts of Central and South America.

They hate Columbus because he was a white man.

It really is that simple. They see a European white man leading the colonization of a world that liberals feel belonged to the Indians.

Same reason they hate Israel. They see it as white men taking over a land they feel belongs to the Palestinians.

After all, it was the Injuns that landed in Europe and conquered its backward, wheeless savages.

“They hate Columbus because he brought Christianity. They want to eliminate Christianity.”

I believe you have hit the nail on the head! That is their agenda. They are turning this once fine Country into a dump. I am grateful I am old and do not have to face a lifetime here. I don’t want to rush my end but I do not dread it.

As the confederate flag is offensive it’s time to ban the teaching of the civil war in schools and, in fact, any history before 1974. They can start with Carters economic malaise and then clintons impeachment.

The the next generation can wonder why some minorities aren’t as equal as others.

“Two more states succumb to socialist/commie doctrine.”

Vermont has been a lost cause for at least twenty years. If all the politicians they elect are like Bernie Sanders, Patrick “Leaking” Leahy, and Jumping Jim Jeffords, we might as well sell the state to Canada.

“Why not have an Aztec appreciation day staged with authentic human sacrifices?”

In Mexico, the drug lords probably do that already.

The indian tribes should call the Dems out as phonies. IF the Dems were serious, they would give land back to the indians.

Remove one more man of accomplishment - because he is white - and replace him with a group who, for the most part, never got past the stone age.

“They can’t compete, so they destroy.”

That precisely describes muzzies.

Let’s celebrate the indigenous people of the Americas discovering Europeans.

Also, let’s celebrate the Moon discovering Human Beings. And, Mars discovering unmanned vehicles.

Let’s celebrating the printing press inventing Gutenberg, airplanes inventing the Wright Brothers, the pyramids inventing Egyptians, gunpowder inventing the Chinese, and the number zero inventing Indians.

Wow, like, I get the signal. The politicians in these states are, like, so virtuous. I wish were virtuous enough to follow their lead. It sucks to be normal.
