I’ve learned how to the customer off without them being aware. I don’t need to drink.

In the words of Drew Carey: Hate your job? Theres a support group for that. Its called everyone. We meet at the bar.

May be. In my industry, I have to ‘act’ as if I like being at the studio meeting when I hate the fags around me. But not enough for me to head to the nearest bar or chug down a bottle of Jagermeister afterwards..

Stupid so-called study.
There is no real correlation, they just made it up.

Maybe heavy drinkers are more likely to fake and/or suppress their emotions than other people.
Or maybe there is no link at all.

Studies show that people will believe most any bs as long as you put “studies show” at the beginning of the sentence.

I worked in Service delivery for nearly 40 years.
I stopped drinking years ago. Delivering good service has so little to do with smiling that you dont have to fake it.
Do it right. On time. For the promised price.
If you do that, your customers will barely care that they had to talk to you. Which is good because after 40 years I can barely stand to be around customers.

Maybe people who drink too much are the ones who have to force a smile.
