Could be.

Republicans tend to want to play fairly. So as an act of civility, they may nominate someone more center of the road.

The Donald worked hard to get rid of some Senators, and also worked hard to get many elected.
The pubbie senators know who the boss is and what will happen if they crap on him.

I would guess that her cancer metastasized to the bone, which contributed greatly to her “ rib fractures”. I dont think the old bird is gonna make it much after the new year.

I do not wish her ill at all.

That said I imagine many on the Left are hoping she’ll be like the father from Ruthless People (as related by his son-in-law played by Danny Devito) where having been at death’s door ... he recovered to only get sicker and older and sicker and older.

Of course the difference is that they won’t be hoping she would die as Devito’s character was concerning the rich father-in-law,

Ruthie will not leave SCOTUS unless and until she is wearing a toe tag.

Ginsburg will continue to serve.

They said they got it all, so she’s going nowhere. Even if they have to wheel her into the court on a wheel chair, she won’t resign.

In 1999, Ginsburg was diagnosed with colon cancer; she underwent surgery that was followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. During the process, she did not miss a day on the bench.[106] Ginsburg was physically weakened by the cancer treatment, and she began working with a personal trainer. Since 1999, Bryant Johnson, a former Army reservist attached to the Special Forces, has trained Ginsburg twice weekly in the justices-only gym at the Supreme Court.[107][108] In spite of her small stature, Ginsburg saw her physical fitness improve since her first bout with cancer; she was able to complete 20 full push-ups in a session before her 80th birthday.[107][109]

On February 5, 2009, she again underwent surgery, this time for pancreatic cancer.[110][111] Ginsburg had a tumor that was discovered at an early stage.[110] She was released from a New York City hospital on February 13 and returned to the bench when the Supreme Court went back into session on February 23, 2009.[112][113][114] On September 24, 2009, Ginsburg was hospitalized in Washington DC for lightheadedness following an outpatient treatment for iron deficiency and was released the following day.[115]

On November 26, 2014, she had a stent placed in her right coronary artery after experiencing discomfort while exercising in the Supreme Court gym with her personal trainer.[116][117]

On November 8, 2018, she was hospitalized after fracturing three ribs in a fall in her office at the Supreme Court.[118] A day later it was reported that Ginsburg had returned to official judicial work after a day of observation.[119][120]

On December 21, 2018, she had surgery for cancerous nodules in her lungs that were found after a CT scan of her ribs following her previous fall.

Trump, assuming the swamp doesn’t crash the economy to get rid of him by 2020 will get to appoint at least 3 more judges... Ginsberg, Bryer and Thomas.. With a possibly appointment of Sotomayor’s replacement as well... Type 1 Diabetes is a bitch.

Any follow-up chemo would be too hard on a fragile person of her age. If I were she, I probably wouldn’t go through chemo either.

You expect them to report the truth about her medical condition?

What if the reason that she broke her ribs was that the cancer had metastasized to her bones?

You’ll never hear it from the eneMedia.
