House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in an attempt to obtain all of the records related to the FBI investigation into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
"The GOP’s decision to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court has wounded the very soul of justice in our country," Pelosi wrote in a statement to her Democratic colleagues. "To preserve the full record of this dark chapter, I am filing a FOIA request so the public can see the FBI report, transcripts of interviews, instructions from the White House, and any communications to the FBI from Senate Republicans regarding the scope of the investigation.
"This is important to set the record straight."
Pelosi's announcement came a day after the Senate confirmed Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court in a 50-48 vote and he was sworn in.
The vote concluded a contentious confirmation process in which Kavanaugh faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. Kavanaugh has fiercely denied the accusations.
He and Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last month regarding Ford's claim that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party in the 1980's.
GOP senators, including Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), said last week that an FBI investigation into Kavanaugh found no corroboration for Ford's claims.
But many Democrats criticized the investigation, calling it inadequate. Ford's attorneys have also called the investigation a "stain" on the bureau.
“We were given one week to investigate. The Republicans said you’ll get one week, they threw out one week,” Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), who sits on the Judiciary Committee, told the Senate last Friday. “And in less than one week, we are presented with paltry documents.”
Pelosi concluded her letter to colleagues by saying that the "health and financial security of families across America" is at stake in November's midterm elections.
"The new conservative majority on the Supreme Court threatens a rollback of protections for people with pre-existing conditions, more leverage for corporate special interests over working families, and little hope to reform Citizens United," Pelosi said. "That is why we must fight even harder to win so that we can advance our For The People agenda."

Sadly, Pelosi and the Democrat agenda like to draw attention to the Preamble's "For the People" phrase, ignoring the preceding essential phrases: Of the People, By the People.
Democrats appoint themselves as arbiters of the Preamble's accent on the fact that the Constitution, itself, is one Of the People and By the People--not of the Democrats and to be implemented by the Democrats.
Also worth remembering, that Constitution's own provisions require that any legitimate, valid changes to that Constitution require the participation of the People, in accordance with the Constitution's own strict formula for amendment (change).

IF she gets the entire unredacted report, she is going to get the undisclosed dirt the Bureau found on DiFi while investigating BK; dirt that after reading the report herself, made ol DiFi look dazed and close to tears. Will she allow even a snake like Pelousy to see that information.
I think every Senator should be investigated by the FBI every two years....Pelosi and husband especially, Di Fi and husband and lord knows Maxine Waters and Husband should be investigated ASAP....don’t take this lightly...call, fax, or write your elected to investigate Dr. Ford also.
DJT should send them a totally redacted page, just to watch their heads explode!
How about an extensive and microscopic FBI investigation into all things Pelosi from birth through today? Add Sparactus Booker, Kamala Harris, ChiFi Feinswine, Madd Maxine, Schmucky Schumer, Dicky Durbin, Sheila Jackson Lee, and the rest of the RAT vermin in Congress. Let’s see all their ties to Soros and financial dealings throughout their political wheeling and dealings.
