Judge Brett Kavanaugh & Professor Christine Blasey Ford Testify
The Senate Judiciary Committee hears testimony from Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford about her allegations that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were teenagers.
I wonder of he had the entire Committee Vote to do it that way or he came up with the idea?
Tears are a strange phenomenon.
They can arise from great sadness and from great joy.
Actually, I hope you are correct and 60 years ago you would have been. However, many of us who have watched during past decades would regard such an assumption as naïve. Pertinent to this issue is the fact that Obama served two terms and Hillary immediately thereafter captured the popular vote.
The more important goal in this hearing was to be fair for poltical appearances.
That is a close call and you may have Republican information that supports such a view, but I do not.
I think we could have effectively discredited Ford while at the same time being fair; indeed, that we should have. The MSM couldn't wait to praise her as the new heroine of the progressives; we should expect her to serve as a role model.

That stood out to a LOT of people. SHE is a professor? As a guy I like a voice like that, but her brain function seemed ‘off’ to be a professor.

I would have like to see Justice Thomas’s face today during this proceeding!
I thought Kavanaugh’s opening remarks were spot on. His responses to questions not so much. He tried to “explain” too much. I kept yelling, “Just say NO!” When you try to explain your “side” of something after being asked a specific question that requires a yes or no, you are sounding like you can’t or won’t answer the question. A straight yes or no if it’s a yes or no question then say yes, no, or I don’t recall (Hillary even knows that).
“Thank God Mitchell’s questioning was replaced by Lindsay and his friends!”
It’s funny. I had just posted that she was so bad that someone needed to “get the hook” and get her out of there. Then the next question was up, and... ta da! ... Lindsey. Mitchell was horrid.
Dershowitz predicted she would be bad.
Not all face time is good face time.
Leading questions might prove to be smart in the end since the internet can analyze every word.

I took my wife up to a rural Missouri salon to get her nails done today. I like to drive her to things like that. This is a rural place that has been around for almost 30 years run by local gals.
Missouri used to have a lot of rural Democrats. Big on traditional union, farmer, rural values.
They were all watching the hearing broadcast. Universally, young and old, staff and patron, they all felt Ford was a total liar. They were all sick of it but also glued to it.
Did my heart good that when commentators came on the major network, they mentally turned them out and/or said, “oh this guy is stupid.”
Did my heart a lot of good.
“I thought she sounded a little creepy with her little girl voice”
And that little questioning “up lilt” at the end of sentences. No credible professional woman speaks that way. It’s weak.
From the few collision trials I’ve heard about, malicious slander is getting commonplace even in the name of insurance rates.
My take is that Kavanaugh’s part was the only area to focus on (Didn't like that but...) their part to go on the offensive.
Since NONE of the witnesses vouched for Ford, Repubs decided to play it safe. If Ford had a witness testifying who was “there”, Repubs would have probably grilled them both.

When it came out in the 50’s and we all went to see it, to say I cried would be an understatement! I have never watched the movie again!
