The Senate Judiciary Committee hears testimony from Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford about her allegations that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were teenagers.

They needed the hearing for cover to get the votes. If some Senators weren't holding back their votes in exchange for a hearing so they could claim they she was allowed to say her piece they would have already held the vote. How hard is that to understand?

If Ford has anything more to say, she can file charges against Kavanaugh in the Town where it occurred....36 years ago.
I believe it was Dershowitz who said what she is claiming is stopped because of the statue of limitations.

Sen Graham is a full-bird Colonel in the USAF JAG Reserve. I once worked with a Major who had been stationed with him back in ‘89 or so. Even then, my friend told me, you could see that he was “a player”. I am glad to hear that he, at least, with his prosecutorial background, is holding firm here. Its entirely possible that - given McCain’s aura - Graham followed his lead in the Senate, and that indeed he is now “freed” in a psychological sense to imprint upon another “big dog” (POTUSDJT).
Or maybe its just wishful thinking and he will go wobbly tomorrow. But I think that he is dead-on evaluating what will happen to the GOP in November if they fail to confirm Kavanaugh.

The House is gone. Senate is OK.
Kavanaugh will be treated quite differently by the Democrats and they’ll all be using accusatory tones and questions.

I’m just glad Mitchell pointed out at the end and that all experts in the field agree, this is NOT the venue or format on how to interview sexual assault/abuse victims.
If we can't have term limits for Congress, I'd like to see a law capping the maximum age of service at 65.
If they want to stay in the game after that, let them go home and run for a statewide office.
