Judge Brett Kavanaugh & Professor Christine Blasey Ford Testify
The Senate Judiciary Committee hears testimony from Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford about her allegations that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were teenagers.
Exactly right. There are two stories here, one is whatever Ford says happened to her and the second is the political vote for Scotus justice. Simple as it gets, if a reconstructed memory from 35 years ago - q “he said” vs “she said” over a bed tussle about which the real truth will never be known give the excuse to vote against Kavanaugh, that was never a yea vote to begin with.
I didn’t advocate shouting at the witness. I advocate never having the hearing, and voting last week. But since that didn’t happen, this is a big lose. Nothing was presented to discredit the core claim.
I thought Rachel did a decent job and wrapped it up pretty well.
Remember - it’s just halftime.
Incorrect.
>> "Ford had never heard of the counseling that Mitchell mentioned."
That was perhaps the closest to checkmate I saw all hearing. Brilliant.
Mitchell: "Hey, PhD in Psychology who's written papers on Children's Trauma, have you ever heard of a Cognitive Interview, which is the industry standard backed by experts, for investigating trauma?"
Ford: "Uh, no."
Mitchell: "Hey, you might want to learn about that, being in your field of expertise, after all. That might have been a better option than getting an attorney, a polygraph, and coming here."
Ford: (uncomfortable silence)
I hate to be vicious but to the average person her very unattractive looks along with blubbering on and off with no tears falling is cringe worthy, ESPECIALLY to other females who are the harshest judge of other women.
When all the BS smoke is clear, what did she say that was so damaging to Judge Kavanaugh? Nothing.
1. I believe that Dr. Blasey Ford does suffer from some psychological problems and that may be due to a traumatic event, but that does not mean an event which she seems to lay the blame on.
2. There appeared to me that there is something more to the relationship between her and Mark Judge than we know or which has been released publicly.
3. The "Hello" to Mark Judge only 4 to 6 weeks after an alleged attack in which she feared for her life injured her credibility.
4.The prosecutor, contrary to what a lot of people think, did what she needed to do, and that is to show that Blasey Ford is an easily manipulated individual and has been taken advantage of by her politically motivated attorneys and by Democratic politicians.
But as Dennis Miller would say, "I could be wrong."
We also know she said she went swimming at the country club every day. How did she get there every day?
Yep. Right on.
Ford has aged horribly. How much did she smoke and drink her whole life?
LOL!! I love that guy. Just watching last night’s program. I’d have given my eye teeth to have worked for somebody like him.
Like the Sand People of Tattooine

Lindsey was very good when he was in the House during the Clinton impeachment hearings.
“Could someone please update me a litte?”
Republicans are stealthy brainiacs or complete idiots, take your pick.
Of course it was. :-) I admit it 100% honestly. The girls all wanted to be noticed by the boys. It was normal hormonal teenage stuff. Not necessary right, but normal. We never considered the boys bad or perverts. The difference then from now is that the girls knew what they were doing and most accepted responsibility for it, unlike what we see today. Today most girls want the attention but when they get it and get caught they want to destroy the boy. As strict as my parents were, my Dad ordered Mom to lower my hems and I sat up part of the night putting them back up. I wanted to look like the other girls without crossing any moral boundaries. I was too afraid of Dad to do anything to get myself in that kind of trouble.
I’m so glad I didn’t have boys to worry about. I had one girl that would rather ride horses than boys and would rather drive a tractor than a car. LOL
I’ll just say, if they didn’t have the votes.....the whole thing would have been handled way differently.
This was an attempt to show the GOP as sensitive and listening.
This isn’t a trial. It’s a public spectacle with the November elections on the horizon.
The voting public has already made up there minds on today’s issue. Nothing that goes on will change any minds.
The votes have been counted behind the scenes. We know the GOP majority prevails.
Did that exchange actually happen?
If so, why isn’t that the end of all this?
