Kavanaugh to Give Senate Calendars From 1982 to Back Up Denial
The New York Times ^ | September 23, 2018 | Pete Baker

Posted on 09/23/2018 2:36:20 PM PDT by Raebie

WASHINGTON — Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh has calendars from the summer of 1982 that he plans to hand over to the Senate Judiciary Committee that do not show a party consistent with the description of his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, according to someone working for his confirmation.

The calendars do not disprove Dr. Blasey’s allegations, Judge Kavanaugh’s team acknowledged. He could have attended a party that he did not list. But his team will argue to the senators that the calendars provide no corroboration for her account of a small gathering at a house where he allegedly pinned her to a bed and tried to remove her clothing.

The calendars show, according to the person working for his confirmation, that he was out of town much of the summer at the beach or away with his parents. When he was at home, the calendars list his basketball games, movie outings, football workouts and college interviews. A few parties are mentioned but include names of friends other than those identified by Dr. Blasey.

“I knew an old sergeant who had all his Leave & Earnings Statements from the day he enlisted in binders. What a civilian might call a paycheck stub.”

I worked for HP my whole carrier. From 1967 to 2001. I still have my first pay stub...

A check book keeps a good account of what you did and where you were, but a 17 year old with a checking account? Maybe. A planner, maybe, but you keep all your old planners and calendars, not hardly, unless of course you are a very very organized young man.

Democrats put up Sotomyer, Ginsburg, the other no name....and get 90 votes.

We put up Thomas, Gorsuch, etc...and barely get these people in....

This kind of leak I actually believe..in fact I even said after these bogus allegations first came to light, that I wondered if Kavanaugh(Being sorta nerdy) would have calendars around that time to show he wasn’t even in the area..and well, here ya go..and I bet he has calendar proof for the following years as well. He would NOT have kept a calendar for only ONE year, Ford is burnt toast..I bet Kavanaugh’s lawyer leaked this one out

You could be correct :(

I have been deposed twice by lawyers of opposing side...I was told very clearly simply answer the questions asked...Do NOT to give any more information than necessary because it creates an opening, a wedge, etc.

But, hey, maybe they were authenticated previously...

Why would she go upstairs to a bathroom. They certainly had one downstairs. This was the 80s....

And the pool was certainly outdoors so make sure you check the weather before you pick an actual "date".

She still hasn't said who invited her. You could NEVER forget that.

Do NOT hand them over until this woman testifies.

Don’t you know that they would hand her lawyers the dates and then they could pick and choose whatever fits her narrative.

Don’t you DARE hand that over.

Yet.

Yes - surprised to see so many doing the happy dance here.

Bad enough its the times - first sentence...”according to someone working for his confirmation.”

So its a leak - not a press release.

Next sentence - “The calendars do not disprove Dr. Blasey’s allegations, Judge Kavanaugh’s team acknowledged.”

Ok - so what purpose are they?

Then this: “Judge Kavanaugh’s advisers said he will not challenge her account of being assaulted but will argue that it was not him.”

OK - a new defense tact might be emerging here...cuz then they say:

“His friend, Mr. Judge, is mentioned, but the others from that night are not. “Go to Judge’s,” he wrote in July 28. A few parties are listed and with them the names of several friends he apparently went with.”

Gotta wonder if they are going to pin the whole incident on Judge...??

They won’t. They just want them to know they have them.

It's 'I can't remember who's house, which date, who was there' vs 'here's my calendars since 1982'.

Who to believe?

Ford’s lawyers will have to change the date of the BS attack

When did she remember the date? I don't see how this helps K.

Good question. Why would anyone keep a calendar from 36 years ago? But then my mom kept a coloring book of birds I did in 1967.

“A very organized ambitious young man who didn’t have a computer back then. Ever heard of a planner?”

Yeah, but who the hell keeps planners from HIGH SCHOOL? And 36 years after the fact, at that!

I think we are going to witness one of the smartest men to ever wear the Black Robe.

How lucky are we????

No need for a planner... he came from a well-off family, but even then several of us had one or other of these 1984 computers -

And don't forget the famous “1984” Apple computer ad in the Super Bowl.

Additionally, the Commodore 64 was released two years earlier and my engineering/software buddies had been building their own S-100 machines for at least five years.

Not sure what this proves. Would he have EVERY gathering of friends on this calendar? Let’s say he is driving home from football practice and has a teammate that he is dropping off. The teammate says, “Hey, wanna come in and grab a couple beers?” Would Kid Kavanaugh then go home later and note “had 2 beers at Mark’s house for 30-minute visit”?

Just want to add.

While Ford was screwing around, Kavanaugh was taking notes.
