Just minutes after Christine Blasey Ford, a California-based psychologist, went public with accusations of teenage sexual assault against Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, the Supreme Court nominee, internet investigators began combing her past for clues about her possible motives, and trying to cast doubt on the veracity of her claims.
Since then, Dr. Blasey, as she is known professionally, has been the subject of a torrent of misinformation online. Some viral rumors about Dr. Blasey have been quickly debunked. But false claims have continued to spread on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and other social networks.
Here are several of the most visible false and misleading claims about Dr. Blasey, along with explanations of whats really happening.
Claim 1: Dr. Blaseys students left negative reviews on her RateMyProfessors.com profile, calling her unprofessional and citing her dark personality. Verdict: False. This viral rumor is based on a case of mistaken identity. The RateMyProfessors.com page on which these negative reviews were found is about Christine A. Ford, a professor of human services at California State University Fullerton. Christine Blasey Ford, Judge Kavanaughs accuser, teaches at Palo Alto University.
This story made an early appearance on Grabien, a little-known news website. It was then picked up by several right-wing media outlets, including by the Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who tweeted a link to it, and the Drudge Report, which featured it on its home page. Grabien later issued a correction and published an editors note apologizing for the error. But the article remained online, and several other websites have since picked it up.
Claim 2: Judge Kavanaughs mother once ruled against Dr. Blaseys parents in a foreclosure case.
Verdict: False.

The Times has never found a foul smelling liberal butthole. Therefore the smell is worse than foul due to the Times beginning to run cover
Uh, they lost me with the claim it’s “mostly false” that she’s a left wing activist.
Misinfo begets misinfo, and disinfo begets disinfo.
Wrong professor as this Ford deleted her pages by scrubbing the internet of her presence.
...???...well I guess her knick name Choo Choo....wasn’t checked
Christine Ford sent a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein in which she accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
It sounds like an outlandish question to ask because we've been discussing this story for days, but has anyone seen a copy of the actual letter posted anywhere?
Well, now. Isn’t it interesting how the NYT chooses which articles to put behind a paywall...and which ones to NOT put behind the wall.
Well, they’re right. There were some reckless claims, but my own posts elsewhere are clear, concise and not citing of anything mentioned in this birdcage liner.
Moot.
Most of them are claims that have already been debunked here on FreeRepublic.
Too bad the NYT doesn't have interest in debunking the viral rumor that some whackjob Professor has made any sort of credible allegation against Judge Kavanaugh. With just a little digging any journalist should be able to show that the allegation is baseless and unprovable.
If you read the article, it basically says claims 2, 4 and 5 are true but don’t matter:
* “Yes, Kavanaugh’s mother did rule on a foreclosure against her parents, but the ruling gave the parents enough breathing room actually helped then avoid foreclosure in the end”, Like liberals are going to have an ounce of gratitude?
* “Yes, Blasey is a democratic donor with a long history of activism but she doesn’t have enough money to be a MAJOR donor.” Therefore she must be completely objective, with no political motivations?
* “Yes, Blasey’s brother works for the law firm that hired Fusion GPS on behalf of the DNC, but her brother isn’t personally linked to the fajw Russia scandal yet.” It’s just a coincidence that the people involved in these things always have ties back to the same small circle of people in a nation of 320 million people.
Even claim number 3, that she has made these same claims about others is not false, just not definitely proved yet.
Only the claim about her negative Rate-My-Professor reviews seems to be a case of mistaken identity.
Yabbut, I have not had the time to read all of them. I was hoping for a cut/paste from the article or a high level summary, just so I don’t have to give the NYT a click. :)
interesting, since the accuser’s whole story is an unverified “viral” rumor.
Back in the 80’s, while in a public building, she forced me into a closet and groped me and tried to get my pants down. I don’t know what would have happened if the fire alarm hadn’t gone off.
Thanks!
Don’t waste your time. LOL.
Would the NYT even think for one second that they should be debunking Ford’s accusation?
Blindly accepting, believing, and spreading unfounded internet rumors.
I know how tempting it is to jump on these rumors when the fur is flying but everyone needs to be careful.
The left loves to plant such rumors knowing gullible people will spread them without confirmation and they can then use this to discredit the right.
If the rumor is too good to be true, it probably is.
It’s behind a paywall.
