I had a 1 ton 78 Ford truck with a 10 ft home built flat bed. A lady backed into the street and hit me. It totaled her car. It scratched my paint.

Automotive engineer Giorgio Rizzoni of Ohio State University calls the administrations safety claims a stretch.
Oh YEA?
Ok, lets take a 1995 Crown Vic and a new Toyota Corolla and hit them head on at 55mph in one of those crash tests and see what happens!

Last fall a woman in a Honda Pilot rear ended me. She couldn’t open her door. Various fluids pouring on the ground.
Some of the reflective tape on my bumper got dislodged.

He is an author about electric vehicles, so he argues larger electric cars don’t make any trade offs.
Heavy electric cars don’t have the range and take too long to charge. They are crazy expensive to buy and maintain.

Actually, today's cars ARE a lot safer because the car is designed to sacrifice itself structurally to take most of the force of the accident. It's similar in principle to modern IndyCar or Formula 1 racer--remember all those parts of the racer flying away during impact dissipates the energy of the crash from being transmitted to the driver.

Yeah i looked him up ad well. He is a published professor who works holds a tenuered chair funded by electric and hybrid car intrest. So his paycheck depends on his position. That would be why the journalists looked him up and included him in the article. For balance. Plus it was easy. Journalists love easy quotes to fluff the article. Just lazy freshman level journalism. Yawn.

Automotive engineer Giorgio Rizzoni of Ohio State University calls the administrations safety claims a stretch. Really? Tell you what, Giorgio, how about I get in an F350, you get in a Smart Car and we'll both drive 40 mph and hit head on and see if it's a stretch.

“Bump for heavy trucks!”
We wrapped our kids in an old Ford Explorer XLT during their post-licensing formative years. Not the heaviest of trucks...but the government refused to sell us an Abrams tank. In the case of the oldest child...it was a wise move on our part. The kid could wreck vehicles (yes, plural). Luckily everyone survived her misadventures, including the truck.
Hussein Obama was more concerned with “saving” the planet than saving lives. Plastic and aluminum don’t have the same impact resistance as good old-fashioned steel.

Dude! E-Trailer has you covered on the hitch. But you're gonna need the Carroll Shelby Turbo package to pull that trailer with a Bobcat.

My 2003 Dodge 1500 Hemi Ram Quad-Cab pickup never got better than about 10.2 miles per gallon gas mileage according to it’s computer, but it was pretty bad @ss.
