If only Ginsburg would do the same but she won’t ... she’s going out feet first.

We MUST ensure we get more conservatives in the senate just in case these selections go past Jan 1st"
Precisely! Also important if another vacancy occurs in the next 2 years.

Yes, but this will still leave the radical renegade Gang of Four intact. They may as well be one person with four votes. The tide of 5-4 decisions will continue.

It will be a long, hot summer. The Demoncrats are going to go completely nuts and there will be trouble! Count on it! Their world is crumbling all around them especially if the Supreme Court gets a solid conservative majority!

I’m thinking that the harrassment the pukes gave Elaine won’t help the pukes.
I’m thinking Mitch likes winning too much and we’ll git ‘er done.

McTurtle set the precedent with the Gorsuch vote. Simple majority to confirm is no longer regarded as nuclear.
Hope Pres. Trump celebrates with a thick juicy steak like the one I enjoyed last night.
“Liberal heads exploding” will be an ongoing headline. Watch for more mob violence when DJT nominates.

But they just concluded their year.
Surely Trump had a heads up and he should be ready to roll with his nominee.
Let’s hope it’s a good one—I am guessing it will be.

CNN is taking it well.

It’s been one heck of a week of winning.
Trump has the opportunity to shape this court
for decades to come.

I would have rather had had Gisnberg retire first. At least Kennedy wasn’t a complete partisan hack.

Hes been voting on the correct side lately... losing him now could be a problem since the senate will take forever to confirm a replacement.
***************
Exactly right. Astute comment.
To: Cementjungle
I dont think the Dems can drag it on forever, or even until the end of Trumps term. Kennedy has been getting more conservstce lately and I think he retired now in hopes that somebody - if not supernconservative, at least to the right side of moderate - could be appointed.

I think the USSC has adjourned for the session anyway. He may not retire until his replacement is confirmed at any rate. Not sure of the details.
