President Trump said Friday that construction of his promised border wall would start "immediately" after signing the omnibus spending bill, which included $1.6 billion in funding for the wall.
"We're going to be starting work literally on Monday," Trump said during an event Friday at the White House. "We have a lot of money coming to the border."
Trump had threatened earlier Friday to veto the spending bill Congress passed on Thursday because it did not include sufficient funding for the wall and because it omitted expiring protections for young, undocumented immigrants.
I pray you are right.

Mexico will pay for 10 walls when NAFTA is re-negotiated by the businessman POTUS.
If this starts on Monday as the President says, and I believe it will, there will be liberal heads exploding everywhere.

From what I am reading, the president as commander-in-chief of the military, can use funds from the record breaking big military funding for the wall. All he needs to do is declare wall is necessary to defend the homeland.

I think it specifies that the portion of $ appropriated for border wall repair cannot be used for the prototypes. The thought is that the National defense $ that he will use in this emergency do not have that limitation. We will see.

The election would have been the biggest landslide in history if Trump had the character to admit his diabolical plans ahead of the voting. Yes, I would have stayed home and so would have millions more and left my faith in God where it will continue to be as I pray for a miracle to restore some kind of sanity to this once great nation.

The bill is a FUNDING bill. It is not an order from a judge. A funding bill is FOR authorizing spending money for stated purposes. It can not be a negative order stating not fund some thing. That $1.8 Billion was authorized for border security, and may not be used for anything such as a real wall, because it specifically states what it is for. But the monstrous military spending authorization is for the commander-in-chief to spend as he sees fit.
