I don't know. I'm asking.
I graduated high school in 1964. During the entire time I was in school Wikipedia reports that there was one incident where three people were killed in US schools, and none where two people were killed. There was an average somewhere between one and two incidents a year where one was killed.
Guns were MUCH MORE AVAILABLE then. Schools had rifle teams. I shot an untethered .22 at Coney Island. I shot guns at Boy Scout Camp. Anyone who thinks that more gun restrictions now would help is oblivious to this.
We also played with make-believe guns. My cap pistols looked like real guns. We played Cowboys and Indians. I'm not a fan of the shoot-em up video games, but it's hard to see how they are very different from the games I played.
So, what's different? Movies and TV shows are different. Respect for the US is different. Victim mentality is different. Respect for religion is different. There's a lot more welfare and a lot more taxes. Manners are different, or non-existent. I think government schools are different, but I haven't been in one for 50+ years so I'm just guessing.
We need to return to what worked. Continuing with more great solutions that make things worse strikes me as the wrong way to approach the problem we have.

You are too harsh. I’ve got three kids late 20s to 30. They each have a lot of friends we’ve been close to for years. All wonderful, accomplished, responsible, law-abiding people in all walks of life. Many have young families now.
Maybe this cohort doesn’t count as “kids” anymore, but I really like what I see.
What we are trying to explain is why mostly adolescent boys/young men are suddenly engaged in the cold blooded mass murder of strangers. This is different than grudge killings based on revenge, jealosy or crimes of passion. Those have been around for thousands of years and have rational motives. The mass shooter craze seems to have started in the 90’s and have increased in body count.
IMO the most likely cause of this is realistic first person shooter video games where the goal is to gun down as many “people” as possible. These people are either computer controlled representations or those who are controlled by other online gamers. Either way the gamer learns to shoot as many strangers as possible with no remorse and for no reason other than fun and the joy of killing. A case can be made that mass shooters are a real life version of a first person shooter video game. This explanation is applicable only for mass shooters that were avid gamers.
It can be argued that millions of people play these games and do not become mass shooters. The few that do are likely those who are psychopaths/mentally ill and have no regard for human life. Another factor could be the use of mind altering medications that started to be widely prescribed in the 90’s.
A couple of years prior to that I was in a play about Davy Crockett. I didn’t have a toy gun so I brought my dad’s .410. Nary a word was said.
The prescribers of Prozac to people who do crimes should also be held accountable - somehow.
But they are not alone - Its the POLITICIANS that aiding and abetting - they make millions of their drug stock portfolios - (insider trading)
Drudge has a great link to ‘WD’ called ‘Meds’. The article cites many, many examples of PROZAC induced killing rages.
It’s everywhere...
And incarceration.
We now live in a permissive liberal society that permits everything.
They draw a line where any use of a gun exists.
There is no concept of morals or sin, no civilizing virtues or rules in the delusional utopia.
To save America and prevent school shooting, we must eliminate the left wing tyrants. We must overthrow and destroy the scourge of people that are liberals.
The slo-mo, bodies exploding with bullets, bloody "BONNIE AND CLYDE" movie began the gruesomeness, which now is in movies and T.V. shows and the YOuTube crap.
With each passing year, this stuff has become more and more acceptable. Well, perhaps not "acceptable", but show and/or talked about, so that the populace become inured to it.
Agreed.
Good thought, but I think the Lord will need some help on this one!
There is no question in my mind that there is a concerted effort underway to destroy the USA. This effort has been on-going since the Founding, and, at some point must come to a head.
Those of us on the Right side of History are working to ensure that this experiment in self-government does not fail.
George Soros, Barack Obama, the Clintoons, Nancy Pelosi, Chuckie Schumer and many, many other others are actively working to destroy America.
WE MUST PREVAIL!
Otherwise, the world will enter a period of darkness and despair that will make the Dark Ages seem like a walk in the park!
If there is no America, who will stand up for FReedom?
So What’s the Difference Between Now and When I Grew Up?
Dear Lord, where to begin... How about everything?
Ill say this: Sane America needs to separate and insulate itself from insane America until the latter finishes killing itself.
Last best hope for freedom on this side of eternity.
Yes, I was not saying don’t do anything. However, a pastor recently pointed out that sometimes we decide on a course of action, before consulting with the Lord.
Consulting the Lord first helps the effort.
Escape lefty culture
Boise is my choice now. Not Cheyenne
Winters milder than Hartford CT
Large metro area
Only 20% Mormon
Ada county, only a 9 point win for Trump, 11 for Romney, 6 for McCain. Boise Mayor is D. City proper probably voted Shillery Obama.
Boise State University, “86th most liberal out of 446.” based on faculty political donations.
2700 feet above sea level? I guess that’s not high enough for altitude sickness.
Slightly warmer winter and less snow/rain than Chi but semi-arid climate makes for cooler summer nights.
“Natives and longtime residents use the pronunciation (BOY-see) as given on the city’s website. The pronunciation is sometimes used as a shibboleth, as outsiders (and newcomers) tend to pronounce the city’s name as BOY-zee).” So, judgement from locals for our superior outsider pronunciation.
Meh.
Conservative domination of state politics
Suburbs got GOP mayors
Jan Feb Mar avg 7 degree warmer with out the wind
And look on Zillow
Property taxes
You are right!
Boise is trending moonbat. The city used to elect GOP Mayors like clockwork. Now they elect Dem moonbats.
Communists are celebrated rather than driven out.
