(CNN)A former Pentagon official who led a recently revealed government program to research potential UFOs said Monday evening that he believes there is evidence of alien life reaching Earth.
"My personal belief is that there is very compelling evidence that we may not be alone," Luis Elizondo said in an interview on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."
A pair of news reports in The New York Times and Politico over the weekend said the effort, the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, was begun largely at the behest of then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, who helped shore up funding for it after speaking to a friend and political donor who owns an aerospace company and has said he believes in the existence of aliens.

Discovering life existing outside earth, microorganisms etc, would be the biggest news in history. But from my perspective, an even more mind boggling scenario would be to discover earth was the only planet in the universe where life existed.
There probably are many advanced civilizations. And the chances of them even being in our galaxy are probably close to zero.
There is most likely life out there but the chances of finding us is pretty slim. We are a grain of sand in a desert.
I speculate that the UFO’s could be time travelers from the future.
At one time Mars was where Earth is now. At some time in the future Earth will be where Mars is now. And people on Venus will be seeing things in Earth that appear to be man made. Probably the ruins of Las Vegas casinos and they’ll think it was some kind of religion.
Would love to see your probability equation... based on an estimated number of planets and the timelines of their origin. (second generation stars/planets - formed from a supernova)
Have you actually done that?(really)
Best regards,

Tells you all you need to know about this tax payer funded boondoggle
When they put "may" in these headlines, it renders them pretty much worthless.
“I speculate that the UFOs could be time travelers from the future.”
Maybe they are from the past, or another dimension!
Uh...no
I don’t know why it wold be close to zero. Earth has had numerous very close misses of large asteroids and we never detected it or saw it coming until it passed earth. Considering the galaxy is over 100,000 light years in diameter, I don’t know how we could detect life say, 88,000 light years away, on the other side of the galaxy.
Maybe they are from the past, or another dimension!
Maybe they're from Uranus...
Thanks for the link. Indeed, fascinating thesis —> we are focused on worrying about aliens arriving when we are creating those very aliens ourselves and we may not be able to stop them from wiping out all “wetware.”
If there are aliens and they have the intelligence to master interstellar space flight, they will take one look and recoil in horror.
While the question is interesting, would not the money be better spent on planning on what do do when aliens arrive? Especially if they intend to exterminate the two-legged vermin inhabiting an otherwise interesting planet?
If it takes them 3 million years to get here, most likely not a problem. But if they can get here only 1 million years after inventing electricity, then we have a big problem.
That’s very scary. Thanks for posting.
Lol
That probably explains a lot about Matthews.
My personal belief is that there is very compelling evidence that we may not be alone
Yep.
I wonder how much of that $22 million ended up in Harry Reid’s pocket...
This type of report was predicted months ago by Q, the anonymous poster (larper?) at 4chan. Basically, his thesis was that, when things were really starting to look bad for Hillary's gang, John Podesta would trot out UFO-related stories to distract the public. Apparently Podesta wants to believe, but no surprise there since he is a Satanist, as well. So, expect the media to do Podesta's bidding as they do whatever they can to divert attention away from the Democrat scandals.
