Thousands watched at a packed stadium in southern China this past weekend as 10 people were publicly sentenced to death and then promptly taken away to be executed.
The 10 Chinese convicts were found guilty of mostly drug-related crimes by Chinas criminal justice system, which has a 99.9 percent conviction rate. At a sports stadium in Lufeng, Guangdong Province, they were condemned to death before thousands of onlookers, including young school children, The Paper reported.

Yeah I’ll pass on a 100 percent conviction rate.
Ten undesirable thugs were condemned to death in front of some school children?
So what? The kids were basically in a court room. I’ve seen worse on Judge Judy.
Snow flakes are everywhere.
You can visit this enue in Ft Smith Arkansas
When I was in Hong Kong they did this and one of the guards gave the men some booze so help them get ready for the firing squad. The condemned prisoners got rip-roaring drunk and sang the Taiwanese National anthem at the top of their lungs as they waited to be shot.
Yeah, I bet a bunch of former football fans would pack a sports stadium to see some of the “Kneelers” get whacked.
"...Fort Smith, Arkansas..."
No kidding. Nearly everyone convicted and in this case, saw nothing about a trial, legal representation, due process, etc. No thanks.
My 22 year old son recently did an internship in China and I told him repeatedly to observe their rules, behave himself etc.
He is well-mannered but I was worried. It is not a free society.
He’s home safe and sound and had a great time. :)
The Chinese have used this approach for drug dealers for decades. It hasn’t eliminated drug trafficking, but their problem is nothing like it is in most countries. The Philippines are applying much the same approach. Contrast these approaches against ours where we are liberalizing the gateway drug, marijuana, and puzzling over why opioid use is totally out of control.
I believe thats Issac Parkers venue....

Centuries, not decades. It’s a very old practice. It’s very effective in preventing drug use.
And the conviction and execution of Cherokee Bill.
I refused my daughter’s request to go to China. Not giving Communists a red cent.
Who cares? They boil dogs alive. Barbarians.
I could live with this penal code. Sell addictive poison that destroys peoples lives and likely could kill them, then it is the same as murder.
Here in the states we have SWAT teams that just kick in the door and execute them and their dog. Then we find out it was the wrong address but the shooting was justified cause the home owner was reaching for a tv remote and the officers were in fear for their lives.
.... especially for THAT particular addict. :)
You always have a common sense answer
Rare in America these days!
The conviction rate is a little out of proportion, but the sentencing and the implementation are a model that is OK with me.
They sell poison, a poison that destroys the persons who ingest them, and the society at large. It serves as a deterrent to others who might emulate them.
