Dems are using the Roy Moore sexual scandal to spin 2018 races
Axios ^ | 11/20/17 | Shannon Vavra

Democrats are working to use the sexual misconduct allegations against Roy Moore to campaign against Republicans up for elections in 2018 and some are using the controversy to try and raise funds for themselves, Politico reports.

Why it matters: They're making it an electoral issue when Republicans can likely do the same and spin it right back at them, given Sen. Al Franken's misconduct with journalist Leeann Tweeden. Bottom line is you can expect this issue to play out in 2018 campaign messages, and candidates on both sides of the aisle will be expected to answer for their colleague's behavior and alleged misconduct at the polls, according to Politico.

You had to see this coming. That's why the Democrats have been keeping a low profile over Moore.

What do they say when Moore wins?

That’s provided the accusers are being honest - which I doubt very much. Anyway, we have Franken, Biden and Bill Clintoon on ice.

I think they all have more to answer regarding the slush fund setup to silence accusers.

So much the better for them. They'll get every Republican running to defend or condemn Moore. So far there isn't a single Republican senator I know of who has come out in defense of Moore. When he gets elected, either they have to walk back their criticisms, which the Democrats will use against them, or they have to do a 180 and accept Moore into the fold, which the Democrats will use against them.

I’ll take that spin, and multiply it after the Moore election to the U. S. Senate.

This is going to be fun to watch.

The implications for 2018 are excellent. The MSM, the Democrats, all the focus groups, the spun polls,... they accomplished nothing.

These entities have been written off.

You can carry that into the 2018 elections. We don’t mind.

They will say that there was vote fraud. They will scream that with all his scandals there was no way Moore could win.
They are totally predictable.

I expect the Dem field in 2018 to be full of women and gay candidates.

There's an anti-male sentiment out there, it's palpable, and I expect the libs will try to capitalize on it.

The exception will be the "bad-boy" candidates - those who have enough charisma to appeal to woman voters.

1) Moore is more likely a RINO takeout operation with the Dems mostly cheering from the sidelines.

2) Dem strategy for 2018 and 2020 seems to be about firing-up turnout of female voters. And they’re willing to throw a few pervs under the bus to help them get there.

“‘....Democrats have been keeping a low profile over Moore.”
*************************
“low profile”? They’ve been firing away but their shots may be drowned out by the screams of the RINOs, the corrupt media and all other denizens of the Swamp. The ‘RATS won’t benefit from this long term into 2018 but Trump’s agenda will.

We can thank Harvey Weinstein for finally making it unacceptable for liberals like Bill Clinton and Al Franken to sexually harass women. Up until now liberal men had a free pass on this.

Given that liberal men are far more likely in most cases to have been guilty of all kinds of sexual misconduct... it seems like this is a tactic that will work only when a liberal woman is running against a man. If it is two men... I think at this point this kind of scrutiny is mostly going to help Conservatives. The Democrats with the help of Ryan and McConnell have unleashed something that is going to cut both ways.

Still trying to get over the crying by Beverly. It never happened. Too many lies that kill the possibility.

Right now I think Moore would be best choice. I do not agree with all he seems to say but we need all the Republicans we can get in the Senate. We will have no chance to convert any Democrats since they are under control of communists.

Anyway, we have Franken, Biden and Bill Clintoon on ice.

The Democrats are already tossing Biden and Clinton under the bus. Since they hold no sway anymore the Clintons are fair game. As for Franken, there's a difference between how he's handled it and how Moore's handled it.

Franken - admitted it happened, apologized to the victim, called for an Ethics Committee investigation, promised to cooperate.

Moore - called all the women liars.

The Democrats will use Moore for all he's worth. It won't work with solid Republican female voters and it isn't needed with solid Democrat female voters. They'll use it to try and sway the independents. Depending on the state it doesn't have to sway a lot of them to impact an election.

And...? If the tax bill passes they will lose seats. If it doesn’t pass they might win a few House seats but still no Senate seats.

It isn't a question of whether Moore is the best choice or the worst choice. That ship sailed after the runoff. Moore is the only choice, short of turning the seat over to a Democrat.

If the tax bill passes then I really don't want to be a Republican congressman in New York, California, Pennsylvania, or Illinois facing all those voters whose taxes I just raised. In the Senate, it may not cost any incumbents. But it could also prevent picking up many Democrat seats, and it could hurt in two of the three open seats.

Since the Dems like all this political theater, dig up Ted Kennedy and put his carcass on trial in absentia.

And Slo-mo Joe Biden he was the Senate President for 8 years LoL. Close enough to have jurisdiction - hey Yertle run a Senate ethics investigation. Biden is an open shut case as in guilty.

Again, look at the different reactions.

Senator Franken - admitted his guilt, apologized to the victim, called for an Ethics investigation, promised to cooperate.

Senator Moore - called all those women liars.

The visuals aren't quite the same. Every Republican will be asked about Moore and his accusers. They'll have to say one or the other lied. The squirming will be something to see.
