Sean Hannity was the friendliest possible interviewer that Roy Moore could have chosen to defend himself from accusations that he fondled a 14-year-old girl. Despite the host teeing up softballs for him, Moore flubbed his chance to put the controversy to rest, failing to completely deny dating teenage girls when in his 30s and claiming forgetfulness when trying to deny specific allegations.
The money quote:
"Let me ask you this, you do remember these girls? Would it be unusual for you as a 32-year-old guy to have dated a woman as young as 17? That would be a 15-year difference... or a girl 18. Do you remember dating girls that young at that time?" Hannity asked. "Not generally, no," Moore answered. "If did, you know, I'm not going to dispute anything but I don't remember anything like that."

It was 40 freaking years ago. My wife was 16 and I was 18 when we began dating. They wouldn’t let us do it now, and we’ve got 40 years married and grandkids everywhere.
These are attacks are from people that engage in every form of criminal act and perversion.
Single girl lunching alone with a single guy is a lunch date.
IOW, a known slut.
Elvis had his 14 year old Bribe to be live with him when he was 25, are we going to raise Graceland to the ground and take down his statues in Memphis?
Agreed with everything you said, but the bottom line is the judge did not do well. Someone with his legal experience fell below the level of believability as a witness.
And then there’s Roman Polanski who drugged and raped a 13-year-old, and is highly venerated by the left-wing loonies.
There was “0” expectation of a future of any kind with this person. They were NOT dates.
Dont blame the messenger. The day before, Hannity was blindly passionately defending Moore to a nearly ridiculous degree. He made it very easy for Moore. Moore chose to obfuscate and be evasive. Dont blame Hannity.
That’s slicing it thin. Single girl and single guy go and get lunch together. Lunch date.
His interview was not all that great but, people in Alabama who watch Hannity are still going to vote for Moore unless the swamp can prevent them.
That is the thing to fight right now.
Now I would agree that a 32-year-old man dating a 17-year-old girl is in questionable taste, but I think that if that happened 30 or 40 years ago, its no reason for Moore to drop out. I am a little bothered that he seems to equivocating about it.
This is how I feel exactly. Why lie about it? He remembers whether he liked this 17 year old friend or not. Why not be honest about that? If he didnt undress a much younger girl, Im ok with him staying in, but it unnerves me what he said about the 17 year old because it wasnt the truth.
If Moore can’t do a better job of defending himself, we might as well throw this race. I don’t care whether he did or did not ‘kiss’ a youngster - if he wants to WIN then HE DID NOT, and that needs to be his final answer.
The WAPO has forfeited its credibility for Left-wing political activism.
“Sounds like he dated an eighteen year old...”
That would be perfectly legal today.
I’ve been trying to find out what was the minimum allowable age for marriage without parental consent in Alabama back in 1979. I believe, in 1970 and for some years after, a girl could legally be married at 14. What I haven’t been to find out is if parental consent was required at that age.
My impression from the the article (and from other recent quotes of his) is that he probably was dating teenagers at the time. So what, if it was legal? I’m pretty sure he was unmarried until 1986...
A family friend who lives in Alabama just told my wife that a WAPO reporter named Beth offered her 1000$ to accuse Roy Moore????

Doug Lewis is a former secret service agent.
In Britain, for example, the socially acceptable thing was often for a man to spend 20 years or so in the military, and then marry in his forties a girl over twenty years younger. Over here, Grover Cleveland married a 21 year old when he was 49, and had seven (I believe) children by her.
None of this is really the point. The Washington Post & the "whipped cur" Republicans are on a campaign to dredge up fantasies that even if true would be neither illegal nor in any way relevant to a Senate campaign 38 years later. Sean should never have spotlighted a sham issue.
While I do not usually contribute to the campaigns of Senate candidates from other States--the Senate being the House intended to represent the States--I consider the needs of striking a blow for decency in political campaigns, so important, that I just made an exception to contribute to the Judge Moore campaign.
The Leftist media needs to be taught that they cannot destroy good, God Fearing men, by this sort of vicious smear tactic.
