WASHINGTON ― You may have seen this photo of President Donald Trumps motorcade winding down a wooded road last week as a woman on a bicycle appeared to give it the bird.
The picture, snapped by a White House photographer traveling with the president as he left his golf course in Sterling, Va., went viral almost immediately. News outlets picked up the story when it appeared in a White House pool report. Late-night talk show hosts told jokes about the encounter and people on social media began hailing the unidentified woman as a she-ro, using the hashtag #Her2020.
The bicyclists name is Juli Briskman and her employer ― government contractor Akima LLC ― wasnt so happy about the photo. In fact, Akima fired her over it.

She needs a WIDE LOAD sign on that bike.
Or at least a sign that says..”This Ass Makes Wide Right Turns”..like they have on 18 wheelers. Some sort of warning, or placard is not much to ask.
“free speech” doesn’t mean there aren’t going to be any consequences from your expression of it.
No one stopped her from giving the president “the finger”. She wasn’t arrested. She can give him “the finger” the next time she sees him without fear of being arrested.
How was her right of free speech violated? IT WASN’T!
Freedom of speech off the job
You must be a victim of the government run school system otherwise you would have known that this is not a “free speech” issue.
Is she really “fat” though? Can we call her just “chubby?”
A former skinny all her life lady who put on some pounds recently in middle age, looks probably similar to this lady, and finds it weird to actually be considered fat wants to know, lol.
IIRC, there is mention of two children and no husband/father. Perhaps she is divorced and her husband was military or civilian federal employee.
I flipped Gore’s motorcade off outside Nashville. Heh...
There is no call to demean oneself by making snide comments about her looks. The problem is not her 50 yo physical body, nor that she is an avid cyclist. The problem is the thoughts of her heart and the words and behavior they produced.
Typical arrogant bicyclist. Can count the times I’ve seen them flipping off traffic while they hog the road.
I'm not sure about the impeached one but the vote fraud during the obama elections was epic. I consider it extremely unlikely that obama won the popular vote.

So? Still got fired.
“There is no call to demean oneself by making snide comments about her looks.”
There is much truth in the old saying... “We most dislike in others that which we most dislike in ourselves.” I resemble that snide remark!
You are correct. I ask for forgiveness.
Not at all excessive. I would never tell anyone why their position was being eliminated, but in an "at will" state the employer is entitled to fire someone for any reason or for no reason. As long as you're not dumb enough to say why, the former employee has no grounds to complain. I'd fire anyone who was rude in public about the President of the United States.
Where are you? Good news story here.
Was she ever ticketed for not having a “Wide Load” sign, on her Moochell -SS?
AKIMA is a nation wide contractor. Headquartered in Alaska. I worked for them. They are a good company. Because so many of the jobs they contract for have security clearance requirements they dont play. Behave or quit
I hope she wins her lawsuit. Freedom is more important than whom you flip off and employers have too many tentacles in employees private lives. Making freedom a second class value is done too often amongst conservatives.
And think about the reactions to your actions.
Her mistake and conceit was in putting it on her Facebook page so she could glory in it among her liberal cohorts. When she did that she willfully or not involved her employer because whether or not she identified her employer someone else surely would have.
