In a brief interview with the Wall Street Journal, President Trump ripped into Attorney General Sessions once again. This time, the President cut even deeper, suggesting Sessions endorsed him because of Trumps success as a candidate, not out of loyalty.
President Donald Trump expressed his disappointment in Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday and questioned the importance of Mr. Sessionss early endorsement of Mr. Trumps candidacy, but the president declined to say whether he planned to fire him.
Its not like a great loyal thing about the endorsement, Mr. Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Im very disappointed in Jeff Sessions.
While the President is still mum on his plans concerning Sessions, Scaramucci told NBC News a decision on the AGs future will be made shortly.

And Trump couldn’t have told him that privately?
"It's extremely unfair, and thats a mild word, to the president. So he recuses himself. I then end up with a second man [Rosenstein], whos a deputy. Who is he? And Jeff hardly knew. Hes from Baltimore."
That statement is either deliberately misleading or is totally incoherent in light of the following:
1. President Donald Trump nominated Rod Rosenstein to serve as Deputy Attorney General in January. Up to that point, he was serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Maryland District -- a post he held since his appointment by George W. Bush in 2007.
2. Rosenstein was eventually confirmed for this post in late April.
3. While this was all going on (from January to April), Rosenstein remained in his U.S. Attorney post in Maryland and was included in the group of 46 U.S. Attorneys whose resignations Jeff Sessions demanded in early March. President Trump refused to accept his resignation.
Does anyone here really think President Trump doesn't know who Rod Rosenstein was? LMAO.
In light of these comments that are clearly idiotic, I'd say President Trump is putting all this nonsense out there to hide what is really going on here in terms of AG Sessions.
LS,
As a former fellow Daytonian, I appreciate your comments here and on Twitter.
Your “24 points on the the 24th” were especially insightful.
However, these newest attacks on Sessions is certainly not 3D chess....esp with Mucci’s comment Session’s position will be resolved “shortly”.
Any additional insight from you or your WH contacts would be appreciated.
Corporate America is a little different than high stakes politics at the top levels of the most powerful nation on earth. That said, one or two jabs at Sessions was probably appropriate but this is getting to be too much unless he knows something that he hasn’t shared yet.
And what sort of advertisement is this for attracting the qualified people needed for the still, many unfilled positions?
Trump can’t “fire” sessions because the GOPe will go after him -possibly impeach him.
When they say he endorsed me, I went to Alabama, Mr. Trump said on Tuesday, recalling the endorsement. I had 40,000 people. He was a senator from Alabama. I won the state by a lot, massive numbers. A lot of the states I won by massive numbers. But he was a senator, he looks at 40,000 people and he probably says, What do I have to lose? And he endorsed me. So its not like a great loyal thing about the endorsement. But Im very disappointed in Jeff Sessions.
From the WSJ article
I expect resignation tomorrow, now.
I thought Rosenstein was a leftover from Obama not a Trump appointee nor a Sessions pick.
More from the WSJ article
Theve lost an election and they came up with this as an excuse, Mr. Trump said. And the only ones that are laughing are the Democrats and the Russians. And if Jeff Sessions didnt recuse himself, we wouldnt even be talking about this subject.
Sessions may have recommended him, but Trump nominated him. He didn’t even know he was from Baltimore and he nominated him? What happened to “the buck stops here”?
Sessions is the AG-recused or not, he can lean on Rosenstein to call Mueller and his dogs to heel for running the wrong prey all this time-and on our time and dime, too. He can see to it that they either run Hillary’s hogs into the trap, or be dismissed in disgrace. He has not done so-now he has been warned in public-get it done, or you’re fired.
I don’t like it either. There is NO ONE who was as loyal to Trump during the campaign, including his own family. This is the ONE THING that could cost Trump Deplorable support. We respect true constitutional conservatives!
You could be dead on with that...
There is a lot more going on that we here in FR do not really know about...
It is all conjecture...
Interesting thread. First one I’ve seen where the majority of respondents actually expressed dismay at President Trump’s actions. Some even calling them “sick”. Is the worm turning?
I've seen you post this several times now...without any qualifiers.
If you're aware of some "bigger problem" please share it with the rest of us, but be specific. Otherwise stop going from thread-to-thread saying there's a bigger problem as if that's Gospel.
Im happy to see Pres. Trump still applying tough love by testing new employees, Sessions in this case, with a probation period.
How else do you build a great staff if you dont weed underperformers out of your organization?
Donald Trump appointed him as the Deputy AG in January 2017.
Then he claimed in his NYT interview last week that he didn't know who he was. LOL.
I honestly want to know what you think after you read this article. Have you turned on Sessions yet?
How do you know he didn’t and Sessions refused....
