At the request of the mayor, Minneapolis Police Chief Janeé Harteau announced her resignation Friday afternoon in the aftermath of the officer-involved shooting of Justine Damond, a 40-year-old Australian woman.

She had all the credentials for being chief of police in Minneapolis: Female and Lesbian. But cut her some slack. She and her wife have split up. Maybe that’s why she was MIA in the mountains till yesterday while all hell broke loose after the Black Muslim cop murdered the White yoga teacher.

Hmmm...I bet the now ex-chief’s statements pinning blame on the shooter did not sit well with the politicians and the city’s lawyers.
At the same time, taking 4 days to get back on the job, when she had to be informed of this almost immediately is simply unforgivable for a police chief.
