All it needs now is “royal consent” from the House of Commons, and Canada will become the proud owner of a brand-new form of tyranny: punishing normal folks for using the wrong “gender pronouns” for people who don’t know what they are.

Fines, jail time, compulsory “sensitivity training”–these can now be yours! All you have to do is call a man “him” when he’d rather be called “her.” The new “crimes” have been tacked onto the Human Rights Code, by a vote of 67-11 in the Senate.
“Great news!” exults Canada’s neo-Stalinist prime minister, Justin Trudeau. He also has a thingy on his Twitter, “#LoveisLove,” whatever the devil that means.
Overheard in prison cell: “So what are you guys in for?” “Armed robbery.” “I stole a couple cars.” “Aggravated assault.” And then, “Well, me, I got 18 months for using the wrong gender pronoun.” Shocked silence descends upon the convicted criminals.
And the people of Canada just take it, as usual. Right on the chin. There’s no outrage the Left can impose on normal people that inspires opposition.
That’s the biggest mystery of all.

There is an excellent film made by the Brit duo Powell and Pressberger called A Matter of Life and Death. It is a love story Fantasy with David Niven, Kim Hunter, Roger Liivesey and Raymond Massey. I reference it because a wonderful five minute scene involves Massey’s character, the spirit of a son of Liberty, explaining to a celestial court how American Liberty is different from all other forms. The scene clearly shows why we are, or at least used to be different.

I guess one should not assume Canada has a men’s basket ball team, or a woman’s swim team etc. Just use person for everyone as in ; wow, look at the hoots on that person, eh.
OR WHAT?? That's a microaggression!!
The proper thing to do is hand the person you're speaking with a list of all 58 genders (59 actually, because it should also contain the option of "other").
Then give the person a pen and ask them to check off the applicable gender(s).
Only then should you actually engage in a conversation with that person, making sure to use the correct gender pronoun from that point on.
Of course, when I use the term "person," I don't mean to be speciesist.

Just how the (fornicate) will an elderly person follow this dictate? The habits of 60 years are not changed easily. This is cruel, mean, intolerant and unfair.
