Why does any former office-holder have security clearance.

Trump needs to cancel all security clearances that are not necessary -- starting with violators of the Espionage Act.

"Could"?

How come the ENTIRE WORLD knows Hillary committed serious FELONIES by retaining and handling Top Secret documents on an unsecured and illegal home server but the State Dept. hasn't quite figured that out yet?

The DEEP STATE DEPT. needs to be DEFUNDED and SHUT DOWN. They are STILL a criminal enterprise.

As private citizens why would they have access to classified information?

She never should have had one to begin with, but it didn’t get pulled over her mishandling of emails?

This state department is abhorrent

Why does any former office-holder have security clearance.

Because they're still using them. Why do you think Obama bought a house in DC? Because he liked the view?

It's the Deep State, man.

If Mrs. Bill Clinton STILL has a security clearance it’s INSANE.

Tillerson’s State Department. He seems to be the one cabinet member who actually gets stuff done.

That she still has any security clearance is amazing.

Exactly, a Clintonista stole and destroyed documents pertinant to the 9/11 investigation.

Once you are out of office you shouldn’t retain that security clearance. Apply again if you need it.

Clinton’s WH didn’t even perform background checks because they knew some staff wouldn’t pass.

John Podesta needs to be added to the list. Supposedly he was named as some sort of White House advisor after Hillary left the State Dept, so he could channel info to his team. If so he had a clearance. He is worse at secure communications than Hillary.

If nothing else, this sure shows that for way too long, America has been at risk in so many, MANY ways due to the incompetence and America-Hating JERKS (read: 99.99999% of Democrats, RINOS, GOPe and general malcontents) at high levels of our Government.

It’s a miracle we haven’t been nuked by now, or that we have ANY, ‘secrets’ that HAVEN’T been sold to the highest bidder!

Grrrr!

Could???? NO, SHOULD and more than six months ago. Where are Trump’s people? Shouldn’t they pull the plug on all who are no longer employed over there?

What a no-brainer. I understand politics and why she kept it after the email scandal while she was still a Presidential candidate getting daily security briefings, but it should have been pulled the day after she lost the election.

Huma's clearance should have been pulled the day Comey announced emails on Weiner's laptop, candidate aide or no.

Does anyone wonder why this probe didn’t occur 5 or 6 years ago?

The fact that it is happening now suggests Trump is starting to make headway in the swamp.

The default is to keep the clearance but not access for two years. Thus a person leaving a clearance job can move to another job without having to re-submit a full background check. They would have to submit the details for the time without access. It is a cost saving measure.

The larger question is why her clearance was not pulled the moment it was known that she mishandled the information.
