Step aside, first ladies. Theres a new fashion queen in town and her name is Melania Trump.
Melania effortlessly showed up all the other first ladies at the NATO gathering in Belgium Thursday. Trump was joined by French first lady Brigitte Macron and Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan on a visit to Magritte Museum in Brussels.
Also in attendance were Amelie Derbaudrenghien, the partner of Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, and Ingrid Schulerud, the wife of NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg, and several other ladies.
Melania, 47, looked elegant in a belted tan skirt suit alongside Brigitte, 64, who wore an unflattering low-waisted Louis Vuitton mini-dress.
Trump supporters gleefully noted there was no contest between the two first ladies, pointing to an awkward photo of Brigitte Macron looking a confident Melania Trump up-and-down.

The girl can’t help it, can’t help it
Well said.
I am a woman, and I know what you are saying.
As I said on an earlier thread, I’m sorry, but that jacket looks like the blanket of flowers they put on the winner of the Kentucky Derby. It’s hideous. I wouldn’t pay $0.50 for it.
“Farmer Don brought a thoroughbred show pony to the swine pavilion.”
ROFLMAO! Love that! :)
I love love love that jacket. I read where some here didn’t. IT’s just personal taste.
“She might watch a Emirates flight attendant video on how to do a high bun sans scrunchie that looks like some effort was put into it (its easy peasy), that lasts all day and draws attention up to her beautiful eyes.”
LOL! I’ve FINALLY mastered, ‘The Messy Bun’ which Beau finds terribly sexy.
I have GOT to find that video, STAT! :)
“Im sorry, but that jacket looks like the blanket of flowers they put on the winner of the Kentucky Derby.”
Well, our Melania IS a,’Thorougbred!’ :)
Our First lady radiates class!
I remember that too! How times have changed!!
The first thing I thought of was the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz, but I do think she bears a resemblance to R2.
This off-the-shoulder number is very glam, very seductive, but maybe not suitable for a daytime activity when the other women are wearing normal day-dresses. As beautiful as Melania looks in it, I think this was the only mistake she has made in her clothing choices that I’ve ever seen. It’s a dinner dress, made for wearing after 5. Everything else she has worn was perfectly chosen and in excellent taste. Yes, even the silver trouser thing.
Correct. And if Melania actually paid for it, she can well afford it.
As others have said, not everyone could pull that off; but I’ve been thinking that a version that would work for us ‘hoi polloi’ would have a few flowers around the neck, cuffs...maybe running down the edge of the front.
(It’s an excellent item for auction. Princess Beatrice wore a crazy hat to the wedding of William and his Kate, and that hat was auctioned-off for charity for about $130,000........:-)
And the Hat! You had to have a new hat, every Easter :-)
DJT doesn’t drink or smoke either. He was publicly unkind about Ivana’s breast implants. I seem to recall that he also got tired of being caught up in Ivana’s New York scene (lots of lavish parties and socializing). He was more focused on work and going home to his meat and potatoes for dinner.
Madame Macron must have had a Sixty’s Flashback! That dress looks like something Twiggy wore!
Macron looks ludicrous in that ill-chosen teenager costume. She’s trying too hard to look youthful by being too skinny and revealing too much leg. It doesn’t flatter her or make her look young; it only makes her look spidery and silly. She would look younger if she dressed with Melania’s taste.
And along with gloves, hats too.
Her body is more diminutive, less developed; and needs clothes that suit her. Maybe she just needs time to get up-to-speed - or maybe she doesn’t care about clothes.
(It is kind of odd that she’s in France, and nobody has stepped-up to dress her attractively...I can’t think that she would turn it down, if someone offered.)
