House delays Obamacare vote, denying Trump 100-day win
Daily Mail ^ | 05:13 BST, 28 April 2017 | Ariel Zilber

Republican legislators in the House of Representatives have pushed back a vote to repeal Obamacare until next week, it was reported on Thursday. That means President Donald Trump's hopes for a major legislative 'win' before the expiration of his first 100 days in office appear to be on life support.

Trump was eager to resuscitate an earlier Republican bid to pass a health care bill that would have replaced the Affordable Care Act, the signature piece of legislation passed by his predecessor, Barack Obama.<

But House Speaker Paul Ryan and his senior GOP colleagues failed to muster the necessary number of votes to ensure the bill's passage.

This is the second time they could not get a vote together on something in the works for 7 years.

Third time is enemy action.

Ryan,McCarthy and Scalise are screwing around with the President and we don’t like it one bit.

And it is not the Freedom Caucus this time.

Trump should be forming a new party. It’s obvious.

Success in business typically comes from playing long ball. Short quick wins rarely lead to sustained, long run sustained return. It's like a diet of potato chips and jelly beans vs steak and eggs.

I am beginning to believe Trump understood Ryan had to go last year. However, Ryan was needed for securing WI, especially going down to the wire. Yes, I know....he was a dweeb about it, but I suspect internal polling showed a Ryan endorsement to be important. Trump's retinue likely assessed that Ryan would be an obstructionist after the election, as would other RINOs.

Trump has four years. Ryan can be ousted at any time. Playing long ball means sacrificing some 100 day wins to flush Ryan et al into the open. Expect to see Trump drive the heard into the sea over the next few months, THEN win even bigger than he has thus far.

This is the second time they could not get a vote together on something in the works for 7 years.

And that is the difference between being an opposition party and being a governing party ...

There are no Democrat votes. The Republicans lost 5 seats in the election. There are 4 vacancies due to resignations (3R, 1D), so there are only 238 Republican votes possible out of 431 votes. Republicans need 216 votes so can only afford to lose 22. The Tuesday Group and the Freedom Caucus have too many members defecting from the proposed legislation. 70-80% of what they desire is better than 0 and losing the House to Nancy Pelosi, who only needs to flip about as many seats as those who refuse to make a deal (probably 25).

We need a new party. We need to de-ball the Republicans. Even if it means giving power to the leftists. Trump will have 6 years to get the new party rolling.

There is no fixing the GOP. I almost 60 now and that fact is clear as a bell.

Drivel

An artificial time line was established to allow the charge of failure.

Nothing happened. The machine grinds slowly and very fine. It will happen when it happens

"An artificial time line was established to allow the charge of failure."

Please correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the first 100 days traditionally called 'the honeymoon period', giving the newly elected President time to adjust to the duties of office ... or was that just for democrats?

We gave them the House, the Senate and the WH so they could get rid of 0care and build the wall.

They are not getting rid of Obamacare. They are replacing it with something that will be, in its own way, just as big of a disaster.

obamacare will never be repealed. Why? The Republicans, maybe for different reasons, want it as much as the Democrats do.

This is ridiculous. We gave them the House, the Senate and the WH so they could get rid of 0care and build the wall. So far they’ve refused to stand with Trump on either of those.

What do these people think is going to happen? Do they think we’re going to ignore that cowardice in 2018?
>

Why, yes, yes they do.

Does anyone truly think the SOP in D.C., after the promises and the votes, will sway anyone to 3rd party? BWahahahaha.

>
This is part of the swamp we the people can and must drain. It’s on us to help Trump fix the GOP.
>

The (R) are the worst battered-wife-syndrome peoples in the country. No a single ‘victim’, they signed up for the abuse (’fixing’ the GOP).

I don’t care about a “hundred day win” for President Trump. I want a “no Obamacare win” for the American people. If it takes 110 days or 200 days, or until the November roll out of next year’s prices makes this fiasco look even worse, I’ll take a real win however and whenever it comes.

Yes they did. And are. And will, until something changes.
