For a change, the ultra-liberal New York Times sort of got it right.
Pushing back against the reflexive tendency of so many on the Left embrace “gender fluidity” and to even encourage people to claim that they are really of a gender different than that of their birth and biology, the Times published an op-ed by Lisa Selin Davis which reads in part:
“I just wanted to check,” the teacher said. “Your child wants to be called a boy, right? Or is she a boy that wants to be called a girl? Which is it again?”
I cocked my head. I am used to correcting strangers, who mistake my 7-year-old daughter for a boy 100 percent of the time.
In fact, I love correcting them, making them reconsider their perceptions of what a girl looks like. But my daughter had been attending the after-school program where this woman taught for six months.
“She’s a girl,” I said. The woman looked unconvinced. “Really. She’s a girl, and you can refer to her as a girl.”
My daughter wears track pants and T-shirts. She has shaggy short hair (the look she requested from the hairdresser was “Luke Skywalker in Episode IV”). Most, but not all, of her friends are boys. She is sporty and strong, incredibly sweet, and a girl.
And yet she is asked by the pediatrician, by her teachers, by people who have known her for many years, if she feels like, or wants to be called, or wants to be, a boy.
The knee-jerk tendency to assume (and wish?) that people are transgender has become so pervasive that anyone who shows interest in that which is not wholly typical for his or her gender is assumed to be “trans”.

Other countries are banning the teaching of transgenderism. BTW, now that I think about it, words have gender, people have sex. So it should really be ‘transsexism.’
You can be an absolute woman of women without being a glittery plastic filled Barbie doll. Those are just play toys and not wives and mothers.
Harvard says that there’s more than two sexes, and that genders can change from day to day:
Harvard tells students gender can ‘change from day to day’

These freaks are actually in charge of our kids’ educations!
There is a lot of middle ground between looking like a Barbie doll and dressing so much like a boy that a girl looks like one.
When I was a 7-year-old, I was what was then referred to as a “tomboy”. My poor mother could not put me in pretty little dresses to play outside because I was climbing trees and frequently ripping my clothes. My most frequent playmate was a boy of the same age 3 doors down the street from us. I just loved being active on the “monkey bars” and building forts. Poor Mom had to just dress me in jeans.
But I never had a boy’s hair cut like this child apparently has, and, when it was time to get dressed for church, my mother put me in girl clothes, and I loved them. When a child is only 7, the parents still have a say in how the hair is cut. Sounds like this girl’s mother has not taught her the side of dressing like a girl, and I suspect mommy likes the attention the ambiguity brings.
Oh, I don’t know. I mean I woke up a real woman this morning, but turned into a man right before lunch. This sounds sexist to me. Maybe I need to find some enlightened young ladies for some girl talk. Of course I have to switch back first.
How did she feel about that?
How true!
Obsession with whether so-and-so is a transgendered individual - or really wants to be - is the latest aspect of the mental disorder known as liberalism. This kind of thinking is even more perverse when the individual involved is a young child.
It's not surprising that transgenderism dominates the the thinking of so many now that it seems to have become the big hot-button issue with the MSM. Geez, to read, listen to and watch leftist MSM, you would think that a sizeable percentage of Americans were transgendered or wanted to be. What overkill!
We had the homosexual lifestyle shoved down our throats; now this trans-gen crap. Scanning a local community newspaper, the area H schools are full of boys on girls teams...and how *welcome* they are by the girl athletes and their parents.
The world is upside down. IMO, if the trannies choose to participate, surgery should be mandatory.
Let’s make both sides happy.
Give sex change ops for free, 40% will kill themselves. Almost half the problem solved.
I don’t really want this but it certainly get the other side excited. I just want to see how they could justify what they are condoning.
I call it Knee-Jerk Contrarianism, the need some have to go against anything and everything that’s considered mainstream or normal.
I have met a few "Pats" in my life. Not sure if they were men or women. One, I talked to for several minutes, while helping to get his/her car started (after topping off his/her radiator). Even after the conversation, I still had no idea. No indication, generic clothing, no makeup, boy's haircut, but no prominent Adam's Apple. Nothing to say where it was a boyish girl, or a girlish boy. Even the voice was about as neutral as it could be.
surgery should be mandatory.
RE: Give sex change ops for free, 40% will kill themselves
Where are you getting this 40% figure from?
It’s an abstract and brief chronicle of the times
When the times change, the transgender nonsense will disappear
Not if you don't send your kids to Harvard or hire Harvard graduates at your business... or vote for Harvard grads!
I was a “Tomboy” when I was a child. I played “Cops and Robbers”, “Cowboys and Indians”, and “Zorro”, complete with props and costumes.
I climbed trees, hiked in the woods, canoed, sailed, and played rock and Roll on my guitar.
But I have NEVER been anything but a “female, feminine, girly, womany, DAME!”
Thank God nobody intervened in my childhood to pervert my sexuality based upon my “Tomboyish” behavior!
BTW, I still ride Harleys, Play Rock and Roll on my Guitar, and hike in the woods.
But I have added shooting to my womanly pursuits! LOL!
Here is one.

feel free to google it too.
I agree with your take on it.
It’s too bad there isn’t more push back on this sort of thing.
This is the number one reason I don’t want homosexuals on k-12th grade schools, counseling.
They read into every action by kids, and start labeling.
Let kids be kids. Some guys are more effeminate than others, but that isn’t a fail-safe indication they are homosexuals.
Tom-boy girls aren’t homosexuals. Some girls love to play sports and tinker. Generally these are very bright women, and excellent potential mates for men.
You get the gender “patrol” latched onto these kids, and they’ll work their magic. First they get them confused, and then they pounce.
