Mr. President, when you “reach across the aisle” with the Dems, make sure you have a two by four in your other hand. It may come in handy.

Just sayin’.

“We would like the Democrats’ help on tax reform, on healthcare reform, on infrastructure...

Who’s WE?

Certainly not the people that got him elected.

We have majorities. She needs to look up the word.

I warned that this was likely when the so called Freedom Caucus decided to give Trump the middle finger. To avoid having to cut deals with the dems the GOP need to stand together with President Trump. Now not we’ll get far less than what we wanted and the Dems will set the agenda thanks to their superior unity.

GG.

No, it’s just what they have to say.
Though some Dems are more conservative than the Tuesday Group that is blocking Trump...

This is what comes from the HFC trying to play hardball w/ Trump.

I would like to see the HFC make valuable contributions to all of the legislation moving through congress but if 30 congressmen think they can hold Trump's agenda hostage they're lunatics.

Flame away Freepers, but somebody's got to keep a foot on the ground.

“Embrace the swamp.”

Not hardly. Sad to see so many people here in FR trashing our President foolishly.

Asking the Democrats to work with him is brilliant because it prevents Schumer & Pelosi from saying “President Trump refuses to work with us so please help us win a Democrat majority in 2018”. It also motivates those obstructionist members of the Swamp in the GOP that stuff can get down without them.

The error that those criticizing the President & Kellyanne are making here is in assuming that all issues, and all provisions in contemplated legislation are ideologically driven. There is much that is not; much that can be dangled to induce someone to take part, without surrendering any principle to the person induced to take part.

It is totally ridiculous to just assume that no Leftist can be induced to take the bait and cooperate. Those with personal experience in how inconsistent are so many on any side of one or another issues, will see the common sense in what Kellyanne is saying here.

democraps don’t want to work with him. They are willing to destroy the country rather than have Trump succeed.

With the GOPe and the #NeverTrump crowd sabotaging him, he needs some Dems. Reagan did the same thing.

I don’t like it but the worthless GOP controlled congress led by snake Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are ginving Trump no options. They control the congress and the slow rolling of Trump’s agenda and his appointments is absolutely their doing. They are undermining him intentionally. Trump needs to up the ante by saying “I don’t need you, I’ll work with them to get stuff done and I’ll make sure THEY get the credit instead of you. Unless you are ready to get off your butts and help me for once. Ball’s in your court, Paul and Mitch.”

I take it the Duke and Duchess of the West Wing is fully supportive of this move. Heck, they probably pushed for it.

This kumbaya thing with the Dems is very touching - I’m starting to get all teary-eyed with emotion...

Kind of like when I saw those pictures.

Most in the GOP want to work with democrats. Unfortunately most democrats would rather chew on tin foil while shaving their head with a cheese grater.

One thing we forget about the President, his campaign and subsequent election, is that no one, including Trump himself, declared him to be a conservative ideologue. He hit upon three conservative themes (jobs, immigration, and defense) and was elected as a populist. Everything in the President’s background is one of achieving goals through deal making. Nothing, absolutely nothing suggested he was the second coming of Goldwater or Reagan

We don’t have a choice until we get 60+ republican senators. Anyone who says otherwise does not understand the senate at all.

We control Congress and the White House. We don’t need no stinkin’ democrats. I hope the Republican Party will someday learn how to wield power when they have it.....like the democrats do when they have it. I also hope Trump provides the leadership required to get more done without working with the democrats.
