In America, the swamp drains you.

BIG Mistake!

If he should learn one thing from Poppy Bush it’s that you can’t trust the Democrats to live up to their end of ANY deal you cut with them.

Well, don’t, Mr. President. Why?

Okay, I am going to be mean: move the Kushners out of the White House. I think they have too much influence. We did NOT vote for them.

This is how they see it and what their reaction will be.

Oldeconomybuyer: "Embrace the swamp."

ROTFL! That's a good (printable) description of working with traitorous Demonicrats.

You do not work with democrats. Any deal you make with them is that they get what they want and we get spat upon.

They will praise you for a day, and after that, they talk about what a dummy you are.

There is no center coalition. Not anymore. Embrace Democrat positions on taxes, health care, and infrastructure and you lose Republicans.

I can’t really blame him. If the Health care bill moved forward with improvments along the way the discussion right now would be much different. Wait is he’ll probably end the first year without any major legislation signed and the Republicans will run on more promises next year. There are no good options left. It really doesn’t matter who wins. If the Dems get in at least they can negotiate infrastructure before they get the impeachment proceedings going

Once again, we’re going to be told by some here that this is either Fake News, or it’s more brilliance and 3-D Chess being played by Trump.

I really loved all the excuses by some on FR when Trump was blatantly pushing Ryancare as a “Beautiful Thing!” We actually had FReepers telling us Ryancare was a good thing, all for the purpose of supporting Trump “no matter what!”

Sorry, but I refuse to be a groupie for any president, especially one who is abandoning some of his key campaign promises!

This is what you get when you have your Liberal Daughter and Son-in-Law serving as your advisors!

Only a stupid president would try to ignore the other party — and virtually half of Congress. “I ain’t workin’ with those bums! I can do this all by myself!!”

Trump isn’t dumb. Kellyanne isn’t dumb. Working with Democrats is pretty much mandatory.

That being said, if Trump keeps trying really, really hard to reach agreement, and THE DEMOCRATS keep saying that they “ain’t workin’ with those bums” then I think that builds political capital for the next election — without necessarily obligating President Trump to adopt Progressive policies.

IF infrastructure includes a southern wall form San Diego to Brownsville then I am good.

Fantastic idea!

Here's what you do. Let a demonicRAT write an education bill.

You could call it No Child Left Behind, Part Duh.

Not necessarily. Trump is NOT Linda Grahamnesty. He, unlike Obunghole, is merely holding out the olive branch toward the ‘Rats and saying, “We’re going to MAGA. Do you want to participate?” If they snub him, he’ll take other action. They refused Justice Gorsuch but he passed anyhow. Let’s see if any of them want to cooperate NOW.

What's wrong with having all interested parties getting their cards on the table?

"Working with them" doesn't mean giving into them. It might mean compromising with them somewhat, but let's find out what each side's "third rail" is, right?

Who know? At this point, it might just be discovery to find out where Democrats have some give and where Trump has to ram?

It's too soon to say that he's reneged on campaign promises just because he's engaging in first contact.
