simple two-page document, an Alabama congressman has filed a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives to repeal Obamacare.
Or, as it is stated in the bill, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Huntsville, introduced the bill Friday.
"This Act may be cited as the 'Obamacare Repeal Act,'" the bill states.
And the bill uses just one sentence to do it.
"Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted," the bill states.
And that's it - one sentence.

This is what we the people want, no other choices required.
Well, I’d assess your view as pretty short-sighted.
O’care is going down. Like TITANIC it’s going down.
The media will NEVER give positive press to ANYTHING the GOP does in this regard, so may as well lay down a deadly spread of torpedoes and send O’care to Davey Jones with all hands.
Any move that ensures that while giving people who are in it some measure of time to transition to a boat with a future — THAT’S a good move; an act of MERCY, truth be known.
After O’care’s lights go out of sight; THEN discussion can commence as to what measures to take — principally the removal of government regulations, I’d think — that will enable a vibrant, competitive (pronounced “lower cost”) medical insurance marketplace.
That suite of simple acts would NOT “squander the goodwill Trump has with the American people”; it would EXPONENTIATE it! When people see that their out-of-pocket care costs, and their insurance costs plummeting — there’s NO WAY Main Street America would hold that against Trump. The media would try to make them, but folks would defy them just like they defied the media when they voted Trump into the White House in the first place.
There’s no “third rail” here. This bill should be heavily sponsored and go to the floor for a resounding “YEA!”
Boom! Nice and simple.
At first I thought it said MEL Brooks :)
But I share you sentiment. Get rid of the ####ing thing and #### replacing it.
What planet are you on and why are you posting at FR if you think the freedom caucus (the only semblance of conservatism in Congress) is the enemy?
This is why the South will rise AGAIN!!!!!!
And Texas will once again be able to hold it's head up among other Nations as it's own Republic, support #TEXIT!!!!!!
What a great big pile of stinkin' MALE BOVINE SCAT
If you think repealing Obamacare can wait while other things are being accomplished, you don’t understand the absolutely crushing impact it has on US business, jobs, and wages.
It’s an economy killer and was designed to be that way. It can’t be ignored nor deferred if economic revival is a serious goal.
He has the look of a wise man.
Just finished reading Judges Chp. 7.
It appears that a parallel can be made between Joash’s altar of Baal -destroyed by Gideon- and how all the people in town went looking for Gideon’s skin.
Joash told them, if Baal is a “real” god, let him contend for himself against Gideon.
I love it. One thing needs to be added, though. A lot of the nasty stuff that Obamacare did occurred outside of this law, “as directed by the Secretary of HHS” and so forth. So additional language should be inserted to negate all of that or at least provide/define a process for doing so.
If Trump wants to repeal Obamacare, he needs to support this bill.
"Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted," the bill states.
Mo Brooks is a member of The House Freedom Caucus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask your Congress Critter to sign the discharge petition for US Representative Mo Brooks's bill titled, "Obamacare Repeal Act"!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you doing in Vietnam?
Nice try MO but you Larry, Curly and the rest of the FC already blew it!
I don’t go to the doctor often, so maybe that’s different, but when I lost my dental insurance, the price that was charged went up about 80%. So basically a “free” checkup that the insurance paid X for, cost me almost 2X when I lost my insurance and had to pay out of pocket.
I don’t share your sentiment.
That’s the proper bill.
I am fro this planet, and I did not know their was a conservative purity test with the passing grade being “are you sexually alltracted to the Freedom Caucus” in order to post here. So which FC member gets you the most excited?
You are apparently a sicko troll here.
