Juliet, who goes to school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently underwent gender confirmation surgery back in January
The 16-year-old singer appeared on Good Morning America Thursday morning, and said that she wants to have a meeting with President Trump so she can 'enlighten' him on the discrimination people like her sister Juliet deal with on a daily basis.
Juliet also appeared on the segment and spoke firsthand about her experiences in school, and the importance of protections for transgender students.
She spoke about how she has 'had things thrown at [her]' and been called 'horrible things' by fellow students ever since she came out as transgender.
'Donald Trump needs to know that being in such an unsafe environment won't do any good,' explained Juliet, who was named Jacob at birth.
'Not only for the transgender and LGBT community, but everyone as a whole.'

I agree. Safety is the optimum concern. Children must be protected. Surely other arrangements can be made for those confused about their gender - let them use the staff bathroom.
Hurt feelings don’t trump safety and sanity.
As a woman, I can tell you that transgender people have been using the ladies rooms for decades. Most of the time, my friends and I would just be giggling about is because the transgender person tried so hard to look like one of us but we did not feel threatened by them. Recently, in the ladies room, I have been in the presence of men who slap on a sundress (hairy back and all) and it’s painfully obvious that these are just pervs who have been given permission to....well... be pervs. We can tell the difference.
Does the federal government really need to take sides in this? This is a state’s rights issue. If Californians want to allow men who claim to be women into their women’s restrooms, that’s their business, but the rest of the states have a constitutional and moral right to decide for themselves how to treat transgenders and other mentally ill people (thinking you are something you are not is pretty much the definition of mental illness, isn’t it?).

Well, don’t come out. Stay in the closet. Most facilities these days have a combo handicap bathroom (one stall) that is uni-sex. Let the transgenders use that one.
Why should the majority of the people have to put up with all bathrooms being confused? Let the majority keep the bathrooms segregated according to the birth certificate, and confused people use a different one.

Agreed. And how hard would it be to simply commandeer one bathroom where they could go and not bother anyone.
Pick one by the administration office. If it’s not centrally located, give them an extra five minutes travel time.

Insanity is the defining feature of collapsing Western Civilization in the 21st century.
I understand that some people will tease, bully even abuse. that’s always going to be with us. What I don’t understand is why the left thinks swapping bathrooms will prevent that. Are they assuming girls will be more tolerant of a biological male that wants to be a girl than boys will be? And vice versa for boys and biological females that want to be male? I think it just shifts the problem rather than solving it.
Just saw in interview with them on CNN. From what I was able to gather, they believe there should be a federal bathroom law to protect transgendered individuals. They will meet with DJT, they will be disappointed.
