"That's what you guys should be writing and covering," new White House press secretary Sean Spicer angrily lectured reporters on Saturday during his first remarks from the podium of the press briefing room.
He was referring to the delay in Senate confirmation for President Donald Trump's pick to lead the CIA, Congressman Mike Pompeo, but the comment came after a long digression about how many people had shown up to watch Trump be sworn in as president.
"This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period," Spicer said, contradicting all available data.
Aerial photos have indicated that former president Barack Obama's first inauguration attracted a much larger crowd. Nielsen ratings show that Obama also had a bigger television audience.
Spicer said, without any evidence, that some photos were "intentionally framed" to downplay Trump's crowd.

People worked that day. It was supposed to rain.
It was hell. I’m not sure what I did....but certainly nothing fruitful.
“The polls” are already reporting Trump is beginning with the lowest approval ratings of any incoming POTUS ever.
The polls. Remember them?
Yep, that photo from behind Trump was taken under the **noonday sunshine** and clearly shows a wall of people all the way to the Washington Monument.
The other photo was taken from the back, before most of the crowd had even arrived. It faces toward the Capitol and swearing-in stand, and was taken from the air in early morning. So the crowds are conjested in front of the podium but sparse in back. The sun isn’t anywhere near high noon. The sky is still hazy.
The jerks are losing it.
Thank you so much for that photo! It matches the crowd size I saw with my own eyes during the inauguration (via Cspan whose cameras actually showed the real crowd size).....
What idiots the LSM are! Don’t they know people in this day and time will check out their lies and can easily see for themselves the crowd was awesomely massive!
Thanks for that link. Another GREAT photo that puts a final nail in the coffin of the LSM’s lies about crowd size.
Wow! Amazing!
lol Avoiding fruitful work on a Saturday is a GOOD thing in my book!
Amen my FRiend, Amen. The good news is, the seed Did indeed take hold and bore fruit on January 20, 2017 :)
May God Continue to guide our course.
Liars gonna lie...
The overwhelming evidence of Trump’s worldwide popularity is about to hit the U.S. liberal MSM like a sledgehammer.
bfl
To be fair to the Media, President Trump is asking the impossible from them : he is asking them to be fair and honest....
I spent the day repeatedly hitting F5 on freerepublic.com.
Let’s not forget that Trump’s supporters are the vast silent majority who actually have to WORK on a Friday.
Even our good friends at Faux News are running with BOGUS pix Next they will use “He is anti Jewish”
CNN is the propaganda arm of a regime that is no longer in power.
I am guessing that 7 times more Trump supporters had to work than Obama supporters.
Fewer could go to the inauguration because they have jobs.
Fewer could watch the inauguration on TV because they have jobs.
I guess that could be Obama’s legacy that fewer people have jobs and they can get active in politics because they have all that free time.

Hey, CNN!
Press secretary Spicer showed screen caps of the crowd size at the press conference, at half an hour into the ceremony.
I’ve got the same screen cap, that —I— took at the same time, and guess what?
—they MATCH—
Same massive massive crowd, going from the Capitol to the Washington monument; an ocean of people.
All y’all were shown visual proof by press secretary Spicer, but even after that, —still— you lie.
