The head of the D.C. National Guard, Maj. Gen. Errol R. Schwartz, said Friday that he has been ordered removed from his command effective Jan. 20, 12:01 p.m., just as Donald Trump is sworn in as president.
Schwartz’s forced departure will come in the midst of the presidential inauguration that he has spent months helping plan alongside D.C. police, the U.S. Secret Service and other top District officials. He will turn over command to an interim as power transfers from one president to the next, and just before the inaugural parade marches down Pennsylvania Avenue.
“The timing is extremely unusual,” Schwartz said in an interview Friday morning, confirming a memo announcing his ouster that was obtained by The Washington Post. During the inauguration, Schwartz would command not only the members of the D.C. guard but also an additional 5,000 troops sent in from across the country to help. He also would oversee military air support protecting the nation’s capital during the inauguration.
“My troops will be on the street,” Schwartz, 65, said. “I’ll see them off but I won’t be able to welcome them back to the armory.” He said that he would “never plan to leave a mission in the middle of a battle.”
Schwartz said he would oversee duties in a command center and then depart at 12:01 p.m., retiring from the Army.

My thought:
Obama can't fire someone at 12:01 PM because he is no longer President. He can fire someone till 11:59:59 AM while he still has power.

I do believe and have no doubts that they are serious. I do, however, have doubts about serious we are.
I have already stated that the National Guard Officer may have requested to be relieved of duty after Trump is sworn in - for .. of course .. political reasons. And, if that is true, then perhaps the only place to find a replacement is through the Pentagon .. which would be the proper place for a temporary D.C. National Guard replacement.
This is my best-guess .. and I’m basing it on a picture of the Officer and the expression on the faces of the two white guys at the same table .. I wondered if this was where the Officer informed the people at the table that he was resigning his post as of 12:01 pm on 1/20.
Well, doing some more researching - apparently the firing had to come from Obama, since Trump doesn’t have the power to do that. While other National Guard Troops report to the Governors of the States, the DC Guard reports to the President.
We know that Soros and his violent minions are planning on violence. Could this be a stand down maneuver by Obama to let the rioters go - like they did in Baltimore?
I don’t trust Obama.

It is important to realize that the US is noted for its peaceful transition of power from one President to the next. The current occupant is known as a “Community Organizer”, AKA a Socialist Operative. the groups protesting and threatening violence are Socialist front groups.
I realize this is a tin foil supposition, but no one knows what might rear its ugly head.

Actually, “Community Organizer”, is a job invented by Saul D. Alinsky (author of Rules for Radicals) that he formulated while plugged into the National Crime Syndicate through association with Meyer Lansky.
The “community organizer” job is patterned after the “insurance” collectors, shake down artists and general issue thugs used by the crime syndicate as local “tax collectors”.
Claiming the title of community organizer is admitting to criminal act and actions.
I stopped reading this thread because it fails miserably.
This is a Presidential appointment position. It is custom for appointees to offer their resignation letters to the incoming President. Trump accepted this one (and countless others) so it therefore goes into effect at noon on inauguration day. No politics and no subterfuge - it just works out that way. It should have no effect on the security plans. They are not plotting the Battle of the Bulge here.... just a simple security plan and the units have commanders who understand the plan. It is crowd control - not combat.
I would expect a journalistic frenzy over this because they do not understand it, but all the angst on this thread is disappointing.
I read on another thread that its SOP to have a resignation letter ready, and it either gets accepted or rejected.
The last time a resignation of the head of security/Guard was accepted at inauguration time would have been in 2008.
