(CNN)President-elect Donald Trump said for the first time he believes Russia was behind hacking ahead of the election.
"I think it was Russia," Trump said during his first news conference as President-elect.
He added that Russia is not the only nation that hacks US targets and accused Democrats of not having sufficient cybersecurity programs.

It's difficult to tell since the video at CNN's site doesn't include the question to which Trump then responded "I think it was Russia".
CNN though claims Trump now says Russia was behind the DNC hacks. I say we need to hear the question he was asked. To whit, I would appreciate if someone had this "I think it was Russia" response in context. (That is a recording or transcript of the exact question he was asked.)
Anyone have that?
CNN is twisting Trumps comment.
CNN = Fake News.
Trump: "I think it was Russia."
So Trump now admits that the Russians hacked the election and stole Hillary’s victory, giving it to himself?
What are they saying here?
Trump: "I think it was Russia."
LOL!
Talk about Spinning Fake News as Real News. That was exhibit A right there.
It is very odd. I would think this is something the MSM will run with IF true. Which is why I would like to get this comment in context.
Again, on the video they provide CNN “conveniently” omits the question to which he responded “I think it was Russia”. If they included the question we could decide for ourselves if Trump is now doing a 180.
Poor reporting at least. IMO.
CNN is dying to pin Trump to the idea that Russia corrupted our election process.
Russia could not affect voting.
Russia could not affect vote counting.
At worst it divulged information that came straight from Clinton and Podesta’s own eMails.
If the election was turned because of that, it wasn’t because of Russia even if Russia provided the information. (Asange swears it didn’t come from them) It would be because what was in those eMails was so shocking, the public could not vote for a person having done those things.
To my knowledge, Trump does not think Russia tampered with the voting process. To my knowledge he doesn’t think Russia flipped to election to him.
I’m pretty sure he does think the information in those eMails hurt Hillary. And why shouldn’t it hurt Hillary?
Who are the real culprits in all this? Russia? Trump?
Wouldn’t it be the people who ordered clandestine operations and violence outside Trump rallies? Wouldn’t it be folks who absconded with foundation funds for personal use? Wouldn’t it be people who were involved with pay for play and other things?
The NEWS media is walking through a field with 8.5 by 11 paper strewn across it. On every page is a new felony by Hillary. The press can barely find a place to step between the pages as it tries to pass through the field. While it does this, it complains about the Russians who made such a mess. Not once does it address what’s on the pages.
Russia is a non-entity in this.
Hillary, Podesta, the DNC, and outside firms that committed crimes for Hillary are.
Trump did not “admit” anything just gave his thoughts. only a person with proof can admit something.
An idiot Democrat fell for a phishing scam that got him to reveal that his e-mail password was the word "password". A bunch of e-mails were released proving that the DNC were the scumbags we already knew them to be. It had no effect whatsoever on the election (and no, the Russians did not plant Hillary's e-mails on Anthony Weiner's PC).
CNN is now at about the same level of credibility as the old Weekly World News. I keep waiting for CNN to cite Bat Boy as a source.
QUESTION: First of all, did the heads of the intelligence agencies provide you with the two-page summary of these unsubstantiated allegations? And secondly to that, on the broader picture, do you accept their opinion that Vladimir Putin ordered the hack of the DNC and the attempted hack of the RNC?
And if you do, how will that color your attempts to build a relationship with a leader who has been accused of committing an act of espionage against the United States? TRUMP: OK, first of all, these readings as you know are confidential, classified. So, Im not allowed to talk about what went on in a meeting.
And but we had many witnesses in that meeting, many of them with us. And I will say, again, I think its a disgrace that information would be let out.
I saw the information; I read the information outside of that meeting. Its all fake news. Its phony stuff. It didnt happen. And it was gotten by opponents of ours, as you know, because you reported it and so did many of the other people. It was a group of opponents that got together sick people and they put that crap together.
So, I will tell you that not within the meeting, but outside of the meeting, somebody released it. It should have never been number one, shouldnt have even entered paper. But it should have never have been released. But I read what was released and I think its a disgrace. I think its an absolute disgrace.
As far as hacking, I think it was Russia. But I think we also get hacked by other countries and other people. And I I can say that you know when when we lost 22 million names and everything else that was hacked recently, they didnt make a big deal out of that. That was something that was extraordinary. That was probably China.
We had we had much hacking going on. And one of the things were gonna do, we have some of the greatest computer minds anywhere in the world that weve assembled. You saw just a sample of it two weeks ago up here where we had the six top people in the world they were never in the same room together as a group. And were gonna put those minds together and were going to form a defense.
Someone with skills needs to redo that “I’m not saying it’s aliens...” meme to “I’m not saying it’s Russians...”
“NEWS media is walking through a field with 8.5 by 11 paper strewn across it. On every page is a new felony by Hillary. The press can barely find a place to step between the pages as it tries to pass through the field. While it does this, it complains about the Russians who made such a mess. Not once does it address whats on the pages.”
That’s a point I’ve made repeatedly on this site at least, in the last couple of months but no one seems to care about it. Which is a shame because I think that’s the biggest point to be made in the entire affair. The DNC had secrets exposed that they didn’t want exposed and now their compatriots in the media are trying to obfuscate the issue for them by accusing Russia of making the leaks. Again, no one seems to care though.
If Trump now says he believes Russia was behind the Wikileaks dump of DNC emails, that plays right into their hands. Which is not good. Which is why I’d like to hear/read what question he was asked to which he responded “I think it was Russia”.
Before drawing any substantive conclusions. This might be a prime example above any in recent memory of the MSM slandering anyone who’s not a progressive leftist.
They may have been responsible for the DNC hack, but it is being misreported as the Russians hacked the election itself.
Saw this. THEY EVEN LIE ABOUT NEWS IN REAL TIME!
CNN just keeps digging that hole for themselves deeper and deeper. I’d be surprised if they are even allowed to have a reporter attend the daily reports once Trump is in office.
Them and MSNBC can play cards or something while real journalists are reporting on the news. That is if there are any real journalists left in America. They are getting as rare as a Royal Flush.
The election wasn't hacked!!! CNN=Lies
