President-elect Donald Trump is set to blow up the White House briefing room, ending the cozy relationship and practices of the past as he seizes on new ways to communicate with his nearly 45 million social media followers, according to incoming Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

"Business as usual is over," he said.

100% credit to Rush Limbaugh for bringing me and millions to the conservative movement. Never missed at least parts of his show each day for many years. I loved him, part of me still does. I’m one of the “lovers” he cheated on. So if I sound bitter, I am.

I thank Gd there was a Rush Limbaugh. I owe him and so do many people famous and not. I’ve prayed deeply for him.

Yet part of him is a phony act. It’s a pet peeve of mine, dishonesty. I can take a lot but I have trouble with dishonesty without apology.

When he was wined and dined by Chuck Schumer and satisfactorily did his bidding, I saw that that could not have been the first time. Call him “Chuck You” to us on the air; kiss his arse privately. It’s apparently how he lives. And when he came on the air that Monday after the discovery, I loved him still. Expected one of two things to happen on the air. Him to explain that it never happened. Or him to do a full mea culpa, apologize, hey, we all can be swayed by big shots, bla bla, be forgiven.

He doubled down. He was angry, defensive. In a half hour, he showed that the Rush I thought he was, with deep moral character, didn’t exist. It hurt. I can even tell you what road I was on, I was so affected. He came back from the break and was furious with a nasty tone to his voice because he had read social media and we weren’t buying it. He called us haters. BOOM.
Done.

I don’t follow Putin that close. You do make some interesting points.

Obama, still the nine year old child that was carted overseas to learn more about hate for the U.S.

See my previous re Rush. I give him his due and always will.

You’d actually love to wake up as me. I’m a happy person. Started this morning dancing in the shower to Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke. Could be a whole heck of a lot worse.

Literally haven’t listened to him for years. 95% of rush’s “show prep” came directly from FR and the stripes he covered I’d already read on FREE REPUBLIC (yay) between 2 hours and up to 2 days earlier!

JMouse, Rush quoted me (always the humorous posts) verbatim from FR no less than three times, that I heard. I was always absolutely flattered.

He was the person I’d most want to have dinner with on the planet for many years. I’m going to have to have my dream dinner with someone else now. See my previous above, where I give him more credit because he does deserve it.

Please see my post 81 above. You are completely right about the credit he deserves. I owe him much, personally, and I will always acknowledge it.

I do not fit in even a little here in LA. If it were going to rub off on me it would have by now. No dice. :) it would be an easier life for me if I just went lib. Not going to happen. Instead, I’m dreaming of moving!

If you YouTube for RT (Russia Today), they have his videos. If you want to know his point of view, he says so. Openly.

The leftist media is becoming more irrelevant everyday. Trump has no love for them and finally, thank God, so does a great majority of the American people. Trump can pick and choose who he wants to do an interview with. Or just Tweet. Tweeting connects instantly. The old farts who would pontificate to us about how we should think and who thought themselves so smug and self-righteous are going to fall by the wayside and that is sweet revenge.

They are already insolvent and have been for years. They still operate because they are propped up by Bezos, Slim, Murdoch, etc.

Donald stated in the campaign that Bezos for example, who owns WAPO, owns it for the sole reason to give good press to members of Congress so that they will keep his taxes low. WAPO is a tax write-off for him that makes sense as a business expense for what he receives in return.

Soon we will see people like Bezos kiss up to Trump because they are sales people willing to do anything for their bottom line, and that is fine in my book but I don’t like to see them apply that whoring principle when the left is in power nor to Uniparty RINOs.

I would not be surprised if Bezos dumps WAPO and lets it die because they are so bad now, held in such low esteem that I believe they hurt his business association with them. He may try to have them appease conservatives but either way that form of media is pretty much done. Other dinosaur media are similarly controlled and operated.

News viewing commentator sites like FR should see a surge but perhaps with direct news postings by writers and reporters. Problem is FR is valuable for many of its posts being from the pathetic left where Freepers proceed to tear apart their writeups. The collective analysis, fact-checking, and comparisons posted in FR are awesome. It’s a good place to see what the real story behind the story is and also to watch unsuspecting new Freepers get taken in by slanted and scam reports from the left. When viewing how such Freepers are corrected, FR becomes in its way a teaching service.

Agree with your assessment!

This begs the question: Why does Mark Levin hate Trump so much?

Truly one of the Happiest New Years for a while in our nation!

Jealous aren’t you? Limbaugh does more for conservatism in one day than you will do in a lifetime.

No one needs a bunch of liberal propagandists lying to them every day. That is all the national media has become. Isn’t the entire national media controlled by only 5 liberal families?? Who needs that communist monopoly?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I say this without meaning to boast, but I’m far better informed about what’s going on in the world day-to-day than any of my family members and friends, and I get my news only from talk radio, Drudge, Free Republic, and a few other sites that I occasionally access. I never watch TV other than Fox while I’m eating lunch at Arby’s.

"JMouse, Rush quoted me (always the humorous posts) verbatim from FR no less than three times, that I heard. I was always absolutely flattered."

Sadly your above post helps prove my point regarding where rush gets most of his "show prep". You are not alone, rush cites FR posters and FR posted stories ALL THE TIME!

The problem is this: rush makes 20, 30, 40 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR and a huge amount of what he talks about comes directly from FR.

Don't misunderstand me; I DO NOT begrudge his entrepreneurial, capitalism. What does bother me immensely is that while he profits hugely from FR, to my knowledge he has never made any kind of SUBSTANTIAL financial donation to keep FR up and running.

Mr Robinson is always in need of funds to keep Free Republic going. It is a non profit organization, rush (and a multitude of radio talk show hosts) makes MILLIONS of dollars off of Free Republic every year. He, along with the others are in the perfect position to help but, to my knowledge rush has never done so.

Heck rush alone could donate enough money to keep FR on the air perpetually and it wouldn't even begin to hurt his "bottom line". Given how much he personally benifits every year from FR, it is the least he could do... but, to my knowledge, he never has.

One more thing I have noted about rush over the years is that he is "all talk, and no action". The adage: "Talk is cheap" is especially apropos when it comes to rush. He talks a good gsme but doesn't ACT, or call his audience to act. Especially if it is going to affect his $ "bottom line".

This is what distinctly sets Jeff Kuhner apart. Unlike rush Jeff Kuhner isn't afraid to talk about a problem and then ACT AND CALL HIS AUDIENCE TO ACT IN ORDER TO C O R R E C T THE PROBLEM!

I will give you one example which will perfectly illustrate the distinction between Jeff Kuhner and rush:

The NFL. The NFL has consistently and willfully gone PC. It has gotten worse over time to the point where the NFL is now siding with the Anti-American, black racist, "hate America", "hate America's national anthem, "hate the police and 'law enforcement'", "hate the military", "hate 'whitey'", "ONLY Black Lives Matter", crowd!

The NFL, commissioner, the owners, the managers, the coaches, the players and the team staffs are disrespectfuly spitting on the country, their fan base and the very American ideals and traditions that once epitomized the NFL and helped establish it as an "American Institution" ON A WEEKLY BASIS! And as if that wasn't enough to stick it to the NFL's fan base and our values, the NFL added insult to injury by signing up "SPIRIT COOKING" Lady Gaga to star is the Super Toilet Bowl's "half time show". *What is involved in this Satanic practice of "spirit cooking" is so indescribably heinous and reprehensible I will leave you to look up the utterly detestable practices involved in "spirit cooking" for yourself. Be forewarned; be prepared to be thoroughly shocked and disgusted by what you find.

This is the evil, perverse woman the NFL chose to represent the NFL and headline the biggest NFL game of the year.

Concerning this issue Jeff Kuhner didn't just immediately talk about the NFL. HE PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS AND ACTED BY BOYCOTTING THE NFL, ITS "ENABLER "SPONSORS, ALONG WITH ALL OF THE NFL's MERCHANDISE, AND ENCOURAGING HIS ENTIRE AUDIENCE TO DO THE SAME BY BOYCOTTING THE NFL AS WELL FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON INCLUDING THE "Super Bowl", FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES UNTIL THE NFL RECANTS AND "RETURNS TO ITS ROOTS OF HONORING AMERICA AND AMERICAN INSTITUTIONS AND TRADITIONS". *By the way, the wide-spread NFL boycott has, and continues to seriously impact the NFL'S financial "bottom line".

rush merely briefly talked about it and did NOTHING! That is the difference.

rush wold never take this kind of genuinely impactfull action 1) Because it could potentially hurt his $ "bottom line" and 2) Because he cares more about the NFL and his personal perks, "bennies" and relationships with the NFL high mucky mucks than he does the country.

Pretty much the same here. I get nothing from TV anymore. It is useless garbage. So much is false or half-truths that deciphering it from real and complete news makes it a
waste of time.

You really picked a perfect analogy. I can’t boycott the NFL any more than I already do, with my interest level round zero. I love hockey though.

Oh, I still follow pizzagate. I sadly know all about spirit cooking. I was dismayed to see Lady Gaga there because she does have a great voice. Oh well.

Rush chooses Rush first. He appreciates his audience but takes them for granted and is willing to toss us under the bus.

This is why I realize what a real treasure Sean Hannity is. Even when he, too, is commanded by his bosses to avoid a subject, he finds a way to allude to it or sneaks a line or two in. He has put his career at risk by choosing a candidate for the country, and alienating even his friends in doing so. Nobody’s perfect, but Hannity would not lie to his audience. That is very important to me.
