Christmas Day is fast approaching and Breitbart News thought it apropos to highlight six pocket guns that should be on wish lists around the country.
These guns are perfect for men who live in climates where cargo shorts/pants are daily wear, as you can put the gun in a small holster and literally drop it in your front pocket and go. The six guns listed below are also excellent gift choices if you have a woman on your list–say, a mother or grandmother who plans to keep the gun in her purse or even to carry the gun in a sweatshirt pocket while walking the kids in the park.

I thought it was odd they omitted Bersa. I replaced the Bersa Thunder in my front pocket with a LCP. Only did it for size. I can hit things at 15 yards with the Bersa.
Would recommend the Ruger LC9 over the LCP. Only slightly larger in size and better action. With my arthritis I have learned to shoot lefty and carry a Kahr PM9. Not quite a pants pocket pistol but still quite compact.
another not on the list is the Seecamp both 32 and 380 models. Very small precision made and fitted slide to frame. Have carried one for years as a back up to my 10mm primary.

I have the LCP - very concealable. I have a wallet-sized holster for it.
But I often feel that it’s a bit underpowered for real use. I think that something like the LC9 would be more reassuring actually.
I wish it weren't so, as they are an American-made weapon...but their reliability is suspect, at least with me.
Other's mileage may vary, but I've had two that I owned (well, still own, but they're dust collectors) and several that I've checked out, and I'm not impressed.
The fit and finish for "presentation" is good, however, the fit and finish for function is not.
A last resort gun, at best..plus I don't really trust a gun that I can see daylight through..
I recommend the Kimber for pure artistry in gun function and fit and the Bersa for inexpensive reliability.
I carry a Bersa for several reasons...one of which is that if I have to use it, I won't feel real bad about having to surrender it to the DA or the police for a few years, while my 2nd Amendment rights are being scrutinized for political purposes.
And probably not getting it back, even with a text-book good shoot.

In really like my Ruger LCP. With a sleeve style holster I keep it in my right front pocket chambered and ready to go
I’ve read a lot about the LCP. It’s very popular and most people don’t report problems with jamming. I’m curious as to what ammo is causing the FTEs.
S&W 340PD weighs only 11.4 oz. unloaded in .357. Looks like the 638 though but a bit snappy. Actually hurts a bit to shoot.

I agree with you. My PMR-30 and KSG are safe queen curios. Can’t trust either of them as a go-to.
They (Keltec) have some brilliant ideas and great theoretical engineering but the rubber doesn’t hit the road when it comes to punishing, reliable use.
I can’t begin to tell you all the failures I saw on the owners’ group board, but the end was all the same. Blame it on something else, Keltec will fix it, and all you need is a “fluff and buff.”

My Ruger LCR 38 Magnum makes me happy.
LOL! The Keltec hand guns in my area are known as Jamamatics. I had a few and traded both for a 45 Springfield XDS.
I do have a gen 1 Keltec Sub-2000 in 9mm. It is a fun gun. I keep that one in the door pocket in my pickup.

I’ve seen one or two pictures of the Sub 2000 failing right at the hinge area during firing, especially on the 40 calibers. Plastic molding design failures, IMO.
I am surprised the BG .380 wasn’t mentioned. A really good little gun. Accurate. Dependable. Love the laser.
By the way, it’s for sale. Why is it for sale if it’s so good? I want more .45s.
Have a 32 Seecamp that I too carry as a deep concealment rig since the 80’s. Very durable , well made and easy to hide in the palm of your hand.

My fingers are crossed w mine.
It is inherently a safe gun when folded. I work on a college campus so it’s concealability is a huge huge plus to me. And yet, it is right there next to me in the door pocket.
In case anybody is wondering, It NEVER leaves the pickup on my person while at work.
Mine is not listed.
