A Rutherford County woman said her son left his visit to Santa Claus in tears because the man made fun of his weight.
Ashley Mayse said she wished she'd never brought Anthony, 9, to talk to the Santa employed by Forest City, Channel 9's partner, WLOS, reported.
Anthony posed for a picture with Santa and shared his Christmas list, but the man's final comments caused Anthony to later tear up the picture with the not-so-jolly character.
"And when it got done, he said, ‘Lay off the hamburgers and french fries’ and that really just disrespected me, and I felt awful," Anthony said.

"It affected me so bad that I was crying until I went to bed that night," Anthony said. "And I want to say to him, 'You don't want to disrespect a 9-year-old. Even though what shape and size you are, it doesn't matter.'"Incidentally, this made NATIONAL news.
How long before the ACLU sues Santa Claus???
I know a few well-mannered 9-year-olds who would have said to him: “Go f%#& yourself, you fat bastard.” LOL.
If that is true, then Santa is doing the young lad a favor.

50 years ago the headline would have read "Santa tries to save a 9 year olds life".
What they should say is thank for caring enough to tell me the truth.

Santa is just saying what his mother should have been. What does she put on his plate? or better yet what kind of fast food do they gobble down as a family. Maybe she is a health conscience mother. . .but if not. . .she should thank Santa.

Secondly, the guy gave the kid some honest advice, and the kid did not like it. Tough, you are fat, and unhealthy, and mother dear should be doing something about it if she loved you.
Maybe Santa is just a health nut.
This from a guy who eats like 10 million cookies in one night.
I agree, except for this is what his dad should be telling him.
It’s his dad’s job to make him into a man.
Of course there is at least some chance his dad is no longer there, because this happens sadly, but ideally, it’s dad’s job.

Santa did the kid a solid.
My wife and I noticed both our children had put on way more weight than we wanted. We altered their diet and they were back to normal in no time.
It’s called parenting.
