Top Media Reporter Hints Murdochs Could Tap CNNs Zucker to Run Fox News
Daniel Nussbaum 25 Oct 2016
In a piece exploring AT&Ts pending $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner, top media journalist and author Michael Wolff floats an interesting theory: namely, that if either former News Corp. COO Peter Chernin or current CNN chief Jeff Zucker dont replace outgoing Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, Zucker could be tapped by Rupert Murdochs sons to replace Roger Ailes atop Fox News.
Wolff explains in a column at the Hollywood Reporter:

Will the mods get upset if I comment on this mother zucker?
Was good while it lasted.
Should work out well... *rolls eyes*
The news area of Fox is already in the toilet. Makes no difference to me.
So FOX CNNews is thinking of moving back to the right?
Pray America wakes
Is Fox Business News apart from Fox News?
Too late to save Fox. They are now spending all their time interviewing liberals, who just spew lies.
Hannity was already replaced by Kelly when she got an evening prime time spot....and he got bumped up to a slot that ends at 11 PM my time.

Whatever else you think about Wolff, you have to admit he’s a doofus.
Why the heck not. FOX has moved into the liberal camp anyway.
Playing Key Role in Megyn Kellys Decision 2017

Megyn Kelly Trump
Voters will head to the polls on November 8 to decide the next President of the United States. Soon, Megyn Kelly will have a significant decision of her own to make: Her employment future. Will Kelly stay at Fox News or will she take her talents elsewhere? Kellys contract with Fox News expires in July 2017, and according to Vanity Fairs Sarah Ellison, Rupert Murdochs sons James and Lachlan Murdoch, now the CEO and co-chairman of 21st Century Fox, respectively, are playing a pivotal role in persuading the networks brightest star to stick around for the foreseeable future.
Kelly and the younger Murdochs have been close for years. They are all in their early-to-mid-40s, and can espouse views that can be out of lockstep with the networks hard-right narrative. Kelly, who spoke to lawyers from Paul, Weiss during their investigation, was indeed a pivotal figure in the Ailes ouster. And throughout it all, according to a person familiar with the matter, Kelly spoke multiple times with Murdoch family members. Lachlan was the one who talked to her throughout this entire ordeal, this person told me earlier this summer. James loves Megyn, this person continued. He believes shes a big part of the future of this channel. According to a person close to Kelly, she has dined at the younger Murdochs homes twice in the past several months.
Being a news exec must be like being an NFL coach....no matter how much you screwed up your last team and got fired for it, it seems like somebody is always ready to hire you, and for more money.
Faux Snooze has gone decidedly left, so why not make the hire and make it a complete transformation.
Talk about an EPIC FAIL!
Take a ratings leader and turn management over to a Corruptocrat Loser like Zucker. That would spell the end of Foxnews.
I have already removed Kelly from my dvr schedule. There would be no hesitation for me to shut it all down if Foxnews turns into CNN-lite.
Do they suddenly embracd excessive failure as a career enhancement
Whoa: Fox News may be facing biggest SHAKE-UP ever
October 26, 2016
In August, Wolff reported that among insiders at Fox, Zucker was said to be not just in the running, but one of the top choices of the younger Murdochs to take the helm at the company in a post-Ailes world.
Wolff wrote then:
In part this reflects the Murdoch sons view of the future of 21st Century Fox as a modern, multiplatform content and distribution company, one without their fathers political stain. (With the Murdoch newspapers and their ideological views split off from 21st Century Fox in 2013 partly at the urging of the Murdoch sons that leaves only Fox News as a political presence in the company.)
And it reflects, after more than a decade in the doldrums, a resurgence of CNN under Zucker, who took the reins in 2012. Most of all though, it reflects a belief that there isnt anybody with Ailes politics from inside or outside the network whom Lachlan and James 44 and 43, respectively, youthful globalist moderates largely living in an anti-Fox world could work with or even tolerate.
