Ted Cruz supporters were alarmed Wednesday at suggestions that he was on the verge of endorsing Donald Trump.
They worry that the Texas senator could squander his brand as a fighter and goodwill earned among many through his stubborn refusal to back his party's nominee if he caves with nothing to show for it.
Cruz has held out on the grounds that Trump is insufficiently conservative, and because Trump attacked his wife and father down the stretch of their heated battle for the Republican nomination.
The senator even took the extraordinary step of declining to endorse Trump during a televised, prime time speech delivered from the stage of the New York businessman's own nominating convention.

oh you are so tough. all I said was that they might have made politically calculated move regarding when Cruz announces his endorsement, and you start writing your snarky comments. Now go brag to your homies at the bar.
Cruz asked Warren Buffet if he could endorse, and Buffet said, “Hell no, you and sidekick Cheetos Face are on probation. Take your gold and keep your mouths shut.
You indicate you encouraged individuals to contact their representatives...For that I am grateful...better than doing nothing...
However, I don’t like being compared with Stabber Beck...that is not being “on the same side” and it does not help me chill. Frankly that is just about the nastiest thing anyone could say to a Trump supporter...Sheesh
You hate Cruz...we all get that...it is clear. Please just stop with the anti-Cruz stuff for now as he is the sponsor of the bill our candidate supports. Frankly, it is not helpful, and if you had read all that has been posted to those of us concerned about this issue —it’s too late, let Trump take care of it, it is no big deal, and Ted Cruz is fighting it so is this just a ploy...you would understand my frustration.
If I sound like Beck in that I am going to tell my grandkids I did all I could to fight this and other globalist initiatives, so be it. However, I am going to continue to do what I can rather than focusing on Brad Pitt, Michael Bolton, and Trump’s cheese steak stops.
The magic underwear vote?
Anybody can grow, even self centered cry babies.

S’true. All I have to do is look at myself today and myself 12 months ago and I cringe at myself 12 months ago.
As for Ted, well... He’s burned a lot of bridges. It will take hard work to earn back the trust that he’s lost. But I’m at least willing to give him a chance to prove his sincerity.
Great point
You are right, friend...who didn’t break the pledge?
I think Cruz is more worried about his next election if he does not get on Trump train. People in Texas not happy with him at all. So he doing it for himself.
I would sub in the word “pleased” rather than “alarmed”, speaking for myself.
Goodwill -- would those be the people who were too polite to boo at the Convention?
Amazing. A person is very blind if they cannot see the difference between Hellary and Trump. Absolutely amazing.
Could make the difference in tight battleground states if Cruz would endorse and try to persuade his supporters to help save the country from going down the tubes with Hillary.
I called Cruz office and thanked him for his tweet regarding Trump support of Protection of Internet Freedom Act just for this purpose.

When someone shows you their true character, believe them.
I appreciate you pinging my in on this, but I don’t remember Ted being tied at the hip with Hillary. Do this mean he definitely wasn’t? Of course not. I can’t catch everything that gores through FR, and I may have missed something.
OMO Ted has exemplified being two smart by haf.
He thinks he knows it all, and tbat sometimes exposed you to being opent to subterfuge.
Ted is out there. I accept this.
“I dont care what Cruz does or doesnt do any more.”
Yup. It’s just the annoying sound of cat passions in the night now.
I don’t think he’ll do it, and I say this because this is about Ted calculating his political future. Ted has already alienated Trump supporters. What does Ted have left? Ted has his diehards who have stood by him, whether it’s trying to get Trump kicked out at the convention or whether it’s after he was resoundingly booed off the stage at the convention. They’ve stood by him to the point that they still make known on Twitter that they are Cruz supporters and go around bashing Trump and retweeting anti-Trump stuff put up by Hillary supporters.
At first, to Ted and his supporters, his stunt at the convention seemed like a good gamble because Hillary had her big convention bump in the polls and Trump’s poll numbers dropped after comments about Russia (of course he wasn’t encouraging espionage but media made it out like that), the Kahn controversy, and various other off the cuff statements. A series of high profile (establishment) Republicans came out in support of Hillary. They thought that Trump would lose and Ted could say, “See, I told you! Vote me in 2020!” However, Trump hired Kellyanne Conway and has turned things around and surged in the polls. For a while, the media kept speculating if he could act Presidential. You don’t hear them speculating on that talking point like they used to. He has a good shot at winning now with momentum on his side.
If Ted changes his mind now, he may garner some favor with Trump voters, but he figures other Trump voters will still remember his actions and think that he sees a Trump win possibility or at least the degree of Trump’s popularity and think he is doing it for their vote in future elections. Recall that Ted has to run for Senate in 2018. Also, he risks losing his base of diehards that still see him as their hero and lament over the fact that he is not on the ballot.
Ted is trying to calculate in his mind if he can support Trump and regain Trump supporters who once liked him while keeping his base of supporters or if he should stay the course. Yeah, he’s still bitter about Heidi and his dad (according to him after he was booed), but ultimately, Ted wants to be President someday, and political calculations are in mind.
Ted Cruz loves himself more than anyone or anything else. He views himself above the rest of US, much like his followers. Some people are set from birth, in their own self. They are unreachable and unteachable. I consider him calling Trump supporters ‘low information’ voters, on par with the wicked witch of the west calling us deplorable. I have not seen one incident wherein Ted Cruz put country above serving his own aspirations... not one. Ted Cruz has as much a mind of entitlement as any other Harvard Law School grad. One cannot fake love of country. Trump has demonstrated a natural love of and for country. Ted Cruz could learn much from Trump, but he appears to be one of those unteachable souls. His call to vote ones conscience was disingenuous at best. The man is not eligible to hold the office of president.
Thanks, I am going to give them a few choice words.
Cruz is a Globalist wrapping himself in his version of a conservative blanket. A NWO Globalist could never truly support an “America First” candidate like Trump. Even if he does endorse, at this point it means nothing. In the long run it means even less as he will continue pushing his NWO Globalist agenda.
Ted Cruz, this is your LAST CHANCE to have a viable career as a politician.............
Is the continued support of George Bush Sr. and the neo-con RINO’s all that valuable to you?
