Should I admit that I have no idea what that is?

My Husband is the architect and can talk to you about style. I like indoor plumbing and central heat. Hurrah for civilization and those who defend it.

That comment brings me back to the Eighties. There was a lady in my life who was immune to my charms. That was because she was a socie (pronounced SO-shee), and I was a poindexter. She had been through Socie Training in high school and could quote chapter and verse from “The Socie’s Handbook.” Her favorite quote:

A socie may not become involved with a nerd, geek, dweeb or poindexter. Kisses must be brotherly-sisterly. Tongues may not touch.”

I once asked her if there were some part of my body that she actually liked. She answered:

"Oh, Pubbie, yes! Your brain! Your brain is so big! It just fills my thoughts and stretches my imagination! When you hit me with those hard, probing, penetrating insights, sometimes I actually – cry out! – in understanding. Oh educate me, Pubbie! Educate me good and hard! I want my understanding to be deeper! Deeper!”
