Vero Beach, FL - (TRUNEWS) U.S. Senator John McCain recorded a Tokyo Rose-style propaganda message that was broadcast on North Vietnamese radio in 1969.
TRUNEWS, a nonprofit Christian digital news app, obtained the bombshell audio recording and released it today on the organizations daily newscast hosted by Rick Wiles. TRUNEWS acquired the audio recording in cooperation with WeSearchR.com, a new media company founded by Charles Johnson.
The 1969 North Vietnamese radio broadcast has never been heard in the United States of America. In fact, there has never been any knowledge that such a recording existed. The audio recording was found in a misplaced file in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. The broadcast was recorded by the Foreign Broadcast Information Service, a branch of the CIA that monitored international shortwave and foreign radio broadcasts.
Lt. Commander John McCain was shot down over Hanoi by a North Vietnamese missile while flying his 23rd bombing mission. Both of his arms and one leg were broken. He was pulled ashore by North Vietnamese who took him to a prison known by POWs as the Hanoi Hilton.
McCain was a prisoner of war for five and a half years. He was released on March 14, 1973, and returned to the United States of America as a war hero. His POW legacy propelled McCain to victory in a race for a U.S. Congressional seat in Arizona in 1982. He replaced Barry Goldwater in the Senate in 1986.
In the propaganda recording, Lt. Commander McCain said he was guilty of crimes against the Vietnamese country and people. He confessed that he bombed their cities, towns, and villages and caused many injuries, even deaths, for the people of Vietnam.
He praised the medical care and kindness of his communist captors even though he came to North Vietnam as an aggressor. McCain said he wished to express his deep gratitude for their kind treatment and that he will never forget the kindness extended to him by the communist North Vietnamese.
Senator McCain is running for a sixth six-year term in the Senate. He is facing a strong primary challenge from former State Senator Dr. Kelli Ward, a physician in Lake Havasu.
The Arizona Republican Primary is August 30. Sen. McCain will turn age 80 on the day before the primary.
Here is the actual script of John McCains 1969 Tokyo Rose propaganda broadcast on North Vietnamese radio.
To the Vietnamese people and the government of the DRVN:
From John Sidney McCain, 624787, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy, born 29 August, 1936, Panama, home state Oregon. Shot down 26 October, 1967, A-4E aircraft.
I, as a U.S. airman, am guilty of crimes against the Vietnamese country and people. I bombed their cities, towns and villages and caused many injuries, even deaths, for the people of Vietnam.
I was captured in the capital city of Hanoi, while attacking it. After I was captured, I was taken to the hospital in Hanoi, where I received very good medical treatment. I was given an operation on my leg, which allowed me to walk again, and a cast on my right arm, which was badly broken in three places.
The doctors were very good and they knew a great deal about the practice of medicine. I remained in the hospital for some time and regained much of my health and strength. Since I arrived in the camp of detention, I received humane and lenient treatment.
I received this kind treatment and food even though I came here as an aggressor and the people who I injured have much difficulty in their living standards. I wish to express my deep gratitude for my kind treatment and I will never forget this kindness extended to me.

This is BS: he was mistreated, tortured, and kept in horrific conditions. That script was written by the enemy and he was coerced into reading it. He refused early repatriation and spent five and a half long years in that hell.
That tape should not be held against him.
Let me preface say that I dislike the man and think him a horrible and stupid legislator.
From what I’ve read he was offered a pass to leave and go home because of his admiral father. And he turned it down to stay with his POW peers. I have also read that interviewed POWs spoke in code when making such ‘speeches’, and/or conferred with other POWs first to get approval before feeding the NVA propaganda machine.
As strongly as I dislike McCain’s politics, I cannot condemn him for making this statement after being tortured. The fault lies with those Communist devils, not with those prisoners who broke under torture.
I listened to it. Regardless of what it says, implies or signifies, IT along with his imprisonment there has no bearing in my mind on what he’s done to us and this country in the past two decades.
If we can’t hold up the recording as a re-election point, then his side should also stop playing the POW card. His imprisonment got him in Congress; it shouldn’t keep him there forever.
To me, these are two distinctly different people - one a captured warrior, and the second a meddler I consider as clinically insane.
Wasn’t it “Hanoi Hanna” who did the NV radio propaganda?
He should have told us about it, at the very latest at the time he was opposing the US using torture techniques against terror suspects, rather then hold back and nobody knew about it. McCain is a historical figure, and he owed that information to those who chronicle it.
If McCain were a patriotic American, he would drop out and let Kelli Ward have the nomination. By all accounts, she's a worthy candidate and he would get to leave politics, not totally disgraced.
He was coerced.
I disagree with many of his political positions, but this has nothing to do with it.
I wouldn’t think people in Phoenix and Tucson would pay that much attention to this, knowing he was coerced into making the recording.
This means nothing to me because it is well known that if you torture someone long enough he’ll do just about anything you demand of him and we know that’s exactly what the North Vietnamese did.
As much as I loathe McCain, I’m not about to condemn him for breaking under those conditions.
Tokyo Rose was pardoned by Ford. She was actually from the US and just in Japan visiting family. I guess she had no choice.
BTW, there were several of them, not just one.
Any background on TruNews?
Curious as to whether Trump gets blamed for this.
Br his own actions, he DID violate the U.C.M.J.
And as Senator, has been on record as voting AGAINST military veterans.
There are many reasons to loathe McCain. This is not one of them.
There was talk upon his return from Viet-nam to try him for treason and execute him.
So yet again Trump is correct, McCain is no war hero, he’s a fraud.
The communists have held this against him to make support whatever they wanted.
Thank God he lost the WH.
Agreed!
Absolutely. No conflict from me on booting his @$$ out for retirement. A conservative replacement senator from AZ would be a breath of fresh air. As a man who served his country, both arms and a leg broken, and was tortured I need to give him a pass on what he may have said under extreme duress
Agree.
Now some would say that it was lack of skill behind his crashing 4 planes.
Not getting into proper position for ejection caused his injuries. Stupidity was behind his flying under and taking down apower line in Spain. Main did manage to graduate from Annapolis near the bottom o his Clas at 894th of 899. Good enough to be a leader in the US Senate.
