CLEVELAND A night highlighting the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya. An appearance by onetime football star Tim Tebow. A presentation detailing former President Bill Clintons sexual misconduct.
Donald J. Trump, the presumptive nominee, has been promising a different kind of Republican National Convention, and plans obtained by The New York Times show that he is eager to put his showbiz stamp on the partys gathering, even as he struggles to attract A-list talent.
The roster of speakers obtained by The Times, and confirmed by two people with direct knowledge of the convention planning, reveals a lineup lacking many of the partys rising stars. Instead, it features some of Mr. Trumps eclectic collection of friends, celebrities and relatives, from his Slovenian supermodel wife to professional golfer Natalie Gulbis...
The list, which is subject to change, as obtained by The New York Times:
Night 1: A Benghazi focus, followed by border patrol agents and Mr. Shaw, whose son was killed by an undocumented immigrant. Senator Cotton, Mr. Giuliani, Melania Trump, Ms. Ernst and others.
Night 2: A focus on the economy: Mr. White, president of the U.F.C.; Asa Hutchinson, the governor of Arkansas; Michael Mukasey, the former United States attorney general; Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, a vice-presidential possibility; Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader; Tiffany Trump; Donald Trump Jr. and Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin.
Night 3: Ms. Bondi; Ms. Collins; Newt Gingrich, a former House speaker; Senator Ted Cruz of Texas; Eric Trump; Ms. Gulbis; and the nominee for vice president.
Night 4: Mr. Tebow; Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee; Gov. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma; Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman; Gov. Rick Scott of Florida; Mr. Thiel; Mr. Barrack; Ivanka Trump; Donald J. Trump.

I think the world of Sarah Palin and I’m not “lying”, but I too feel she comes off as shrill and too snarky. When she spoke with Trump a while ago, it was nothing short of cringe worthy.
Calling someone a liar for saying so is childish.
“As much as I love Sarah Palin, she really needs to spend some quality time with a voice coach. The message is spot on, the delivery not so much. She comes across as shrill and undisciplined, as opposed to intelligent and focused.”
I agree. The upper mid-West/Alaska accent sounds very nasal and irritating. It shouldn’t make a difference but it does. She sounds like the mother on the old cartoon “Bobby’s World”
BTW I generally like Sara Palin
Jeff Sessions isn’t a listed speaker either.
Consider Exodus 4: 10-11 as a the impetus of my sense.
Gifted oratory skill is not at all indicative of the nature of a person. Of course it could be, but it is not necessarily so.
A family convention. How about that! Thanksgiving, Christmas, having fun at the beach. This is going to a brilliant convention. It's about protecting families, making them prosperous through job creation, and emphasizing the golden values of good citizens who create communities that feel like an extended family. Remember how Barack Obama had zero family (other than Michelle) give testimony at his conventions? Even today we know very little about his larger family, his past lives. It's all clouded in mystery. Wonder why. And Hillary's family? Are you kidding me? Nothing there except spooky skeletons in dark closets. Thank you, Mr. Trump, for bringing back to America a sense who we really are and how great the society can become when it's unified and people are truly working together and citizens find their own ways of contributing to the greater civil society. This convention is going to be a celebration of American life, not a celebration of American politics. Good riddance to the Bushes, Romneys and George Wills. This is our party now. In fact, it's about returning politics from the politicians to WE THE PEOPLE. Go Trump! |
A bit of a RINO-fest...
Couldn't blame her for staying in Alaska....
It has been suggested for years here on FR, I might have been one of the 1st group to mention it, and we even had voice/singing coaches chime in here that yes, she can and should. I don't think she ever did, but their was a brief period when it seemed like she was trying to change her delivery as if it was more from the diaphragm but that is gone too. Love to know if she ever did or considered a coach.
Her Convention speech was delivered intelligently and focused. She just need a speech writer and she could deliver a teleprompter speech better than most. Her undisciplined speech are mostly off the cuff and from notes she written herself
You are funny nikos!
The TV ratings for this convention should be through the roof.
Actually, is their a roof this year??
You are undoubtedly not the only one
WATCHIN EVERY STINKIN MINUTE!!
Where’s Bobby Knight?
This post is a joke, right? So if we love someone, we cant give constructive criticisms? Please.....
I used to love SP but....
The MSM hit job on Palin has worked beautifully on some.
Palin is still what American Leaders should be.
Instead of the Hag of Little Rock.
Newt could come back for an acceptance speech.
My thought exactly.
Probably going to have some cute cutting thing about Obama. Hee, hee, hee!
I'd take any behind-the-scenes reporting from the NYTimes with a whole shaker full of salt. Their purpose and tone is to slime the Republicans, not to inform the reader.
Must cook ahead or order lots of pizza cause I certainly don’t want to miss any thing. Will Cspan be broadcasting it all ?
