What is in decline is poll participants responding truthfully, if at all.
When the question of whether or not the respondent has a gun in the home is asked, is “NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS” marked down as a YES, NO, or N/A?
Such baloney. But, what do you expect? Look at the source of the article. Portland Press....nuff said.
Yes in a convent in some small Austrian village, maybe; but if you are trying to say this about American get lost and wait until school opens so you can try to convince kindergarten kids.
Like anyone with a micron of intelligence would tell a random stranger (polling co.) that they own a firearm....
translation: The population of ex-felons and immigrants here who can’t legally own guns is at an all-time high.
It certainly is inconsistent with data on firearms sales and requests for background checks. Is it possible that the respondents *lied* to the pollsters?

Sorry, but that's B.S. The poll was wrong in 2012, or is wrong today or both, but there is no way there is that dramatic a shift in four years.
In other news, boating accidents up 30%.
The poll is invalid.
If someone called me for a poll, my answer would be “Nunyas”.
I doubt I am the only person.
Must be all those people who have lost their guns in boating accidents.
I wouldn't tell the truth about my gun ownership to my WIFE, much less some stupid pollsters.
There. Fixed it.
wink, wink, nudge, nudge
Hmmm. Maybe individuals becoming first time owners is down. But I find that hard to believe since, apparently, there are 52,000 guns sold daily since the lyin’ king’s immaculation. I may or may not have picked up a couple of new ones during that time period but not that dang many.
Right.
With the lefties ravening after our guns and our rights and the GOPe pusillanimously wobbling in the face of their onslaught prudent, freedom-loving Americans are going to announce their gun-owning status to total strangers.
I’m sure...
Yet sales are through the roof
Sample population is key. More people live in large cities with restrictive gun ownership laws? There has been a dramatic shift of people leaving the suburbs to live in the cities again in the last decade or so.
Really? Why lie to a MEDIA inquisition. Who would tell these fine, upstanding people of the PRESS a lie?
Golly, if they called me, I’d tell them that yes, I owned several guns but lost all of them in a tragic boating accident on Lake Michigan. So, no, I don’t have a single gun in my household.
