Donald Trump Rolls Out Winning Platform: Cut Taxes, Save Social Security and Medicare
Breitbart ^ | 19 Jun 2016 | Patrick Howley

Posted on 06/19/2016 9:30:19 PM PDT by detective

Republican candidate Donald Trump focused this weekend on his economic platform: Cut taxes and regulations across the board while also saving Social Security, Medicare, and other government safety-net programs.

Trump’s platform is nearly invincible in the general election if he stresses it enough, polling shows. Trump’s plan will also have a transformational effect on how people view his party. But he still needs to make the accounting work to ensure that his Third Way platform is feasible.

Trump indeed has an excellent objective and he can achieve it too. I think people realize this.

He is the ONLY Candidate on either side that brought up the Waste, Fraud and Abuse that all these Government Programs contain, from SS and Medicare to the VA.

I have no idea if eliminating all that wasteful spending will save anywhere near what is necessary to keep these Programs viable for the long term if it could even be done.

IMHO, Eligibility for Medicare and SS will have to begin later in Life. I believe that Life Expectancy has increased about 15 Years since these Programs were instituted.

Over the next 36 Years, add one Month per Year to the Eligibility Age, so the current Early SS Benefit rises to 65 and the “Full Benefit” rises to Age 70. Medicare would kick in at age 68. That should save some big Money.

I always thought it was curious that the Reagan era SS Reform raised the Full Benefit Age to 67 but the early Benefit Eligibility Age stayed at 62.

Gee, I wonder why, Third Rail?

I've heard so little from him on this issue lately that my confidence in his continued support as outlined in the link you furnished has been shaken. Especially since not too many moons ago he stated that he really likes the idea of "Single Payer" better that Obama/Romneycare.

Jim, I'm one of the Freepers that raced across the country in 2010 to support Michele Bachmann and Glenn Beck, et al, along with hundreds of thousands of other caring Americans to the biggest rally ever seen on the D.C. mall against the obscene penetration of GovernMental nonsense into American lives through control of 1/5th of our economy and peoples ability to work with their chosen Drs. to protect themselves and their health!!!

I'm not willing to do as CA did with Arnold and throw another proven conservative over the side and choose a celebrity instead of showing the courage to support true conservative reforms in our deformed government!!!

I'm sorry, it's just the way I see it and I'm too old to change my experienced opinion. I'm not being confrontational, just deeply disappointed that my same sentiments I have enjoyed sharing with so many for so many years here were evidently supported with support a mile wide, but only an inch deep.I could be wrong, but these are my observations and they make me sad indeed!!!

As a populist, Trump’s idea of the gravy train is to direct government funds to working class and middle class Americans.

This puts him at odds with Republican orthodoxy which favors massive cuts for the wealthy and fewer benefits for Americans down the economic ladder.

For Trump, that’s OK for it puts him squarely on the side of average Americans vs the Washington elite. Its a winning issue.

Romney was a stuff shirt guy painted by Democrats as out of touching with average Americans. Trump wants to change this perception.

He doesn’t much care whether or not GOP insiders like it. His populist platform lets him run against them.

It’s Trump or Hillary. American liberty dies if Hillary gets to name the judges. We’re all in for Trump. Are you with us or against us?

1. Roll back taxes to 1913 levels.
2. Fire all government middle management greater than GS-12. They have been overly populated with socialists.
3. Get rid of the Department of Education.
4. Get rid of Homeland security and roll it into the Coast Guard.
5. Reopen every single one of Eric Holders judicial cases and reinvestigate.
6. Round up all Muslims and hold them into detention just like Roosevelt did with the Japanese after Pearl Harbor.
7. Have the Texas national guard patrol the southern border.

Absolutely. How can we survive as a country with a stacked Supreme Court?

Trump clearly isn’t serious if he is talking about saving socialist programs like SSI and Medicare. Those are anchors on this economy

Trump knows bankruptcy. So he’d be a perfect fit to lead the federal gov’t 2016 and beyond

Hillary has got to be the WORST Democrat candidate of all time.

Worse than Obama? Worse than Bill Clinton?

The competition to be the worst candidate is a tough one, and there are some very good contenders.

That’s what we said about Romney.

Romney refused to campaign. He was all but handed several good issues to run on, and wouldn't do it. I guess he didn't want to criticize an incompetent black man and risk being branded a racist. Whatever, he had no backbone.

Plus, “Third Way” is so Bill Clintonesque that it should simply be rejected our of hand and not be given another thought on any conservative web site that supports truly conservative principles, IMO!!!

Right. Let's reject out-of-hand the only real conservative and let Hillary win in a cake walk. Because reasons.

Let me help you out a little. Instead of judging Trump on what the lying media says, go to his website and read up on his platform for yourself. Make at least a little effort to understand why Trump has won the primaries in a landslide.
