Vladimir Putin downplayed past comments about Donald Trump and spoke about the presidential election on Friday, adding that he accepted the US is probably the worlds sole superpower.
America is a great power. Today, probably, the only superpower. We accept that, the Russian president said at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. We want to and are ready to work with the United States.
Alluding to US-EU sanctions on Russia in response to its military actions in Ukraine, he continued: The world needs such strong nations, like the US. And we need them. But we dont need them constantly getting mixed up in our affairs, instructing us how to live, preventing Europe from building a relationship with us.
Asked about the presumptive Republican nominee for president, Putin again described Trump as a flamboyant or colorful man, using a Russian word яркий that can be translated with ambiguous connotations, from gaudy to striking to dazzling.
You see, its like I said, Putin told his questioner. Trumps a colorful person. And well, isnt he colorful? Colorful. I didnt make any other kind of characterization about him.
But heres where I will pay close attention, and where I exactly welcome and where on the contrary I dont see anything bad: Mr Trump has declared that hes ready for the full restoration of Russian-American relations. Is there anything bad there? We all welcome this, dont you?

Putin doesn’t want to deal with the sociopathic clown b*tch Crinton...
Translation: "The Muslims in the American White House need to back off."
I agree with Putin. I'd like to see the U.S. become good friends with Russia. See how it goes, one step at a time. He knows as well as Trump that relationship could end in one second if need be. And that wouldn't bode well for anyone.
We are at the point where the civilized Western world must repel the Muslim invasion. Of course the US and USSR must be allies in this. Putin and Trump would be near-perfect partners in saving civilization.
That could well be the poison that Russia fears. A US gone mad under Muslim influence.
Oops! Meant “the Russians” rather than “USSR” ... Old habits die hard!
Trump won’t care where Putin’s soul is — just his brain.
I would pay money to listen in on a conversation between those two. I would be hearing an assessment of the world in actual reality.
Yep.
Bishop to Knight’s....
He wants SO BAD or Trump to win. Did the russians release those documents on hillary yet?
Putin is what he is, but there is no reason the US and Russia can’t at the leas, be neutral towards each other.
Putin squeezing ISIS in Syria changed everything about the war for the better.
Is he a good man? No. But he understands the evil of islam, has halted gay propaganda in his country, is trying to get people to have more kids, and has backed their church. He is a patriot.
Our guy is a traitor.
Trump HAS TO WIN.
He wants to avert everybody’s away from the fact that Putin has been rebuilding his military for the past twenty years.
>> I’d like to see the U.S. become good friends with Russia
I’d like to hear Russia produce more romantic composers.
I think that both men understand each other...Putin is not an enemy but he is no a close ally.
Russia is far better led than America.
I’ll take Putin one thousand times before the Democrat/GOPe government we have today. I don’t care who it is he’s supposed to have killed, he isn’t drawing a paycheck from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain or Iran.
The EU/US just played hard ball. NATO is recommending placing cyber attacks into the NATO common defense determination doctrine. So Russia’s hacking of Clintons emails, if released and if the NATO doctrine change is made, could invoke a combined NATO attack. All to protect the NeoConvict queen Hillary the Great. Germany apparently is having issues with that doctrine change. Hopefully you all have bug out plans set. No way Putin can allow Hillary to be president
Trump doesn’t drink (alcohol).
I thought of that just after I posted. A little ginger ale, perhaps!
