House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) has made clear he doesn't agree with a proposal put forward by Donald Trump -- whom Ryan has endorsed -- to ban Muslim immigration into the United States, but in an interview with the Huffington Post Thursday, Ryan floated taking a President Trump to court if he tried to implement such a ban or some of his other controversial proposals unilaterally.
“I would sue any president that exceeds his or her powers,” Ryan said in a back-and-forth about Trump's claims that he could implement a Muslim ban or build a Mexican border wall without congressional approval.
Ryan said he wasn't sure of the "legal question" of whether Trump could institute a Muslim ban on his own as president.
“That’s a legal question that there’s a good debate about,” he said, citing the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act.
"On the broader question, are we going to exert our Article I powers and reclaim this Article I power no matter who the president is? Absolutely," Ryan said. He also said he discussed the limits of the executive power with Trump.
In the interview, Ryan said his endorsement of real estate mogul did not give Trump “a blank check,” and that he was still trying to achieve "real unity" between the presumptive nominee and his caucus.

They've been encouraged lately by seeing Europe practically roll over and commit continental/cultural suicide, and now here Trump comes along with his patriotic and nationalistic sentiments, policies, and goals to ruin everything the globalists have long worked for. We are also tired of not winning Presidential elections. You and that nice Romney fellow got your asses kicked by the worst President in my lifetime. His running mate, the gaffe-a-minute VP beat you too.
You have shown no ability to stop Obama's spending or his insane policies of destroying our borders.
So, could you maybe do all of us in WI a favor and just shut the hell up. Go sit down on the bench. We are going to win this time. We simply can't afford to lose this one.

I never though I’d say this, but I really wish Boehner was never ousted, seeing the result with this traitorous, weak SJW, Ryan. It’s amazing how strongly some of these RINOs oppose what Trump and most Republican voters want, but do extremely little to stand up to Obama. It’s disgusting that this Ryan is the highest ranking Republican. Ugh.
Just a few scant years ago, Nush banned immigration from certain Islamic countries. Will it take another 9/11 to invoke the same policy as Bush?

Yeah, I’m in the same boat now. Who’da thunk it. Boehner was not nearly as ambitious as Ryan and potentially as destructive as Ryan. Ryan is acting like the primaries are still going and seems to already be running for POTUS in 2020.

What’s really scary is that it seems the “conservatives” in the House are just fine with Ryan’s Hillary enabling tantrums. We haven’t heard a peep out of the “Freedom Caucus” for example.

I have never seen anyone connected with Romney that didn’t turn out to be a backstabber to anyone not approved by Romney.
Ryan is just acting out for Romney. His actions/words have Romney written all over them. Romney is one of several cancers that inhabit the body of what used to be a conservative party, but has morphed into the RINO/Democrat Lite party. Its no wonder there is a conservative revolt against these guys. It’s no wonder there is a “movement” FOR Trump and against the GOPe.
Ryan, much like Obama, makes me physically ill to listen to.
