Second Congressional District in Virginia. Tidewater area for the Virginia challenged.
135 of 180 precincts reporting: Pat Cardwell 2213 votes 6.83% J. Randy Forbes 13165 40.61% Scott W. Taylor 17,039 52.56%
Scott Taylor is in the House of Delegates, former SEAL and all around good troop. This is a relatively safe gop district, so he'll likely win the general.
Randy Forbes is a carpetbagger from western tidewater, 4th district. He doesn't live in the 2nd. His 4th district was redrawn and is now leaning rat. The incumbent in the 2nd decided to retire to let Forbes run for the seat. It didn't work and we just got something of a two-fer: two gop establishment tools gone.
Yahoooooooooooooooooooooo.
“two gop establishment tools gone.”
Yeah, but what about the 4th District? Are we ceding it to the Rats? Give up two gain one is NOT a win!
Good. If Trump wins he will need all the help he can get. I have a feeling the Trump will get a lot of opposition from Ryan and McConnell.
I though Forbes was a good rep. I hope Taylor is. I don’t know that much about him, some things I heard him say, I’m not sure about. I hope he is a true conservative.
Fiscal conservative Sanford survived but this is good news that someone is getting 38% against a guy like Sanford who’s voting record is good, but is suicidal going to Hispanic churches promoting amnesty.

You can thank the courts and Randy Forbes for losing the 4th. If Forbes had stayed put and fought the good fight, there is a fair chance he would have won re-election in the 4th. But he didn’t want an election, he wanted a coronation.
Gop-e fail.
The feds re drew the 4th to make it a majority minority district. A good chance that a Dem will win that now. Hopefully the Gop can hold on to that, but it will be an uphill battle.
Forbes was better than Rigell, but a backbencher and gop-e tool. He got a grand total of one bill passed in 15 years in Congress: naming a post office. Rah.
We skipped the “hamburger helper” and got filet mignon instead. Scott Taylor will be a very good rep.
4th district was redrawn because of SuperRat Governor, Terry McAuliffe “fairness” challenge in the courts. No way for Randy Forbes to win the 4th anymore (safe Rat Bobby Scott black district, now that the 4th is redrawn).
BTW, Randy Forbes is solid conservative. Will be pity if he is pushed out because of the Clinton carpetbagger, McAuliffe shenanigans.
Now can we take care of Kentucky and the turtle Mitch!
So Forbes had no chance in District 4 in November had he stayed put. VA is full of liberals.
You obviously have Forbes mixed up with someone else>
Forbes had a chance in the 4th. Name recognition and a fair number of supporters in the district. I have no fondness for him, but he might have held the seat.
He didn’t stand and fight, and he lost anyway.
You have no clue....he had **ZERO chance** to win the 4th once in was redrawn to include Scotts voters in Hampton and Newport News.
So glad Scott Taylor WON..............per Wavy10 :)
Hell no! VA ain’t full of libtards. Not while I am here.
Rigell, Comstock and Griffith are the VA RINOs. Forbes got a 96% Conservative rating from the ACU in 2015. There was no way he would win in a VRA Black district and had little choice but to move into this seat. He should run against Sen. Tim “The Eyebrow” Kaine in 2018 with his primary loss.
McConnell isn’t up for reelection until 2020.
No, you have ZERO clue. You’re trying to pitch Randy Forbes as a conservative stalwart? On what planet? His Heritage rating is 73. Below Hensarling, Chaffetz, and even Rubio. Although admittedly better than Rigell. Which is setting the bar about as low as you can get.
Unfortunately Forbes didn’t have enough intestinal fortitude to make a run in his own district. An uphill fight? Definitely. But with name recognition he had a chance of holding the seat if he had run in the 4th. He wouldn’t fight like a man in the 4th, so he lost like a dog in the 2nd. Good riddance. Scott Taylor will be better than either Rigell or Forbes.
