Zucked Up: Why Silicon Valley Is Scared To Death Of Trump Part 1.
Breitbart.com ^ | May 28, 2016 | Lee Stranahan

California’s high-tech business wizards like Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg are in full freak-out mode over Donald Trump, and the key to understanding why lies in the H-1B visa program. As a recent L.A. Times story titled “Donald Trump has done the unthinkable: Unite Silicon Valley” reports: Ambitious start-up CEOs who swore off talking politics for fear of offending investors are enlisting in campaigns to discredit Trump. Longtime valley Republican stalwarts who have voted for every GOP nominee for decades say they can’t do it this year. The libertarian-minded innovators who just want to get government out of their way have less faith in Trump than they do in even Hillary Clinton, the Democrat with big plans to grow the bureaucracy.

Any sweeping generalization is doomed to failure, but based on considerable experience and research, I can confidently say that H1-Bs are important because they provide cheap labor.

The official excuse of “expertise” coming from foreigners is strictly BS. They tend not be experts. They tend to have major communication problems. They tend to not fit well with American culture.

They are not that different from migrant farm laborers.

Great article. The open border GOP liars have hid this issue for a decade.

There’s a lot to be angry about. The H-1B program has caused massive layoffs of American workers and over a decade of wage stagnation. More infuriating is that the victims of H-1B are Americans who played by the rules, got an education in a growing field, and thought they’d have a career future.

There have been bipartisan reasons to keep the public in the dark about H-1B and keep them focused on low wage workers.

If you want to see what’s really going on with immigration policy, look at the cash.

Take a look at a list of the top lobbyists on the issue of immigration and it’s a high-tech wonderland. Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Qualcomm, Motorola, Google, and, of course, Facebook are all the household names that are spending millions of dollars to influence politicians on immigration.

The American people though always seem excited to get more foreign workers here. They must be clueless.

sometimes top-honors technical graduates of the leading American universities (including Stanford right there in Palo Alto- SillyCon Valley)... are denied even courtesy job interviews by major SillyCon Valley tech firms...
(but many of them continue to import many foreigners from Asia, especially communmist China and some India, etc...many of whom are less qualified...)

It seems to me more and more that "libertarian" is synonymous with "criminal".

There isn't any difference between these guys and those who employ illegal aliens, don't pay overtime when due, etc.

It's all criminal.

It's sad, but more and more Americans think capitalism is bad for them because the only capitalism they've known is the corrupt, crony variety.

Funny - I’m scared to death of Silican Valley with all their anti-American sentiments expressed in so many ways.

Cheap and “Not Demoralized” Labor Express.

I get a lot of static from Lazamataz because I am a contractor in an office of mostly H1Bs. If I was a citizen of India, in fact, I would have to BE a H1B to do what I am doing.

But no, I don’t hire H1Bs, haven’t hired a single one yet. That’s a silly idea (Laz), because I am an engineer, not a supervisor.

One thing I wish I could really emphasize to people debating the situation. The tone is just different in the office where I am than it is in most American businesses. The people CARE about each other. They are NOT NIHILISTS. Just the other day one of the gentlemen that we knew in the office had a child born to him and his wife. The whole bloomin’ office both in USA and in India was oohing and ahing over it in a flurry of email.

In the businesses where I’ve worked before, something like that would elicit a quick “Oh! How nice, when’s the shower?” At most. Like hummetydrum and the beat goes on.

America has GOT to put away the cynicism, or it will be living in a self fulfilling prophecy, orchestrated by the devil. God doesn’t make pessimism, people. The devil does. And our biggest problem isn’t even that of a dilution of physical labor pool as it is a dilution of ATTITUDE. The immigrants of old would bust their rears in order to raise up an enterprise, and the whole city would hum. Now it’s like, hokay, where’s the welfare office? Whole different ATTITUDE and PICTURE.

A co-worker interviewed at a large company in Silicon Valley on Thursday and said out of the 100+ people he saw, 97% or more appeared to be from India. Of course we can’t know how many were using H1B visas...

I firmly believe the government free Shiite programs are a much more pervasive danger than the H1B program.

I’d tend to concur with that idea.

The supposed “Great Society” became the “Good Grief Society.”

The convention should adopt “Desperado” (the Eagles) for its theme song, for more reason than one.
